Colts Vs. Titans Game Day Thread

Just an observation but each of McAfee's kick offs have only gone as far as like the 5 yard line (as compared to him usually kicking them out of the end zone)...is that purposeful to force the titans to return and potentially not get back to the 25?

Of course it's purposeful. they're bringing their blockers up to stop a potential surprise onside kick. So we're making them pay by trying to pin them and forcing the returner to get hit constantly. he might fumble later...

we need to get up by 21..

..The Titans are going to realize that this game is their season...and make some kind of a comeback (I think)

Another 3 and out. Let's give credit where it is due. The defense has given us a chance to come out with a huge lead in the first half.

Yeah I have a feeling they are going to make a game out of it regardless of the outcome of the first quarter.  They do need to go up 21 - 0 for sure because this Titans team can score in bundles.

Dr. Phil?

Dr. Phil still has potential, I'm not going to give up on him yet.

You'd think we're the best team in the league looking at today's game.

Yeah Dorsett saved him on that play.

    • He had his best year last year, getting 13 starts on D in Detroit.  He also plays ST.   We needed depth at S and I think he was the best FA S available at this time.  Still curious as to why Geathers remains unsigned anywhere.
    • He only played more than 6 games two times in his career.  He was a first-team all-pro and pro-bowler both times.  He had a 44 inch vertical and a 4.3 forty and was a freak of an athlete.  Unfortunately, he had trouble staying healthy throughout his career or he would likely have gone down as an all-time great.        Yes, even though he only played 4 games in the 2006 regular season, his return for the playoffs was huge. We had the worst run D in the league (every game that year, in regular season, we let up >100 yards rushing) and in the playoffs we had the second best allowing only 73 yards per game.  Aside from the forced fumble in the SB, he had a big play in the AFCCG breaking up a pass with 2:30 seconds left in the 4th quarter when we were down 34-31 on a 3rd and 4 (scroll to 2 hr  2 min portion of this video: https://www.colts.com/video/2006-afc-championship-game-indianapolis-colts-vs-new-england-patriots).  Had the Pats converted, they would've run out the clock.  He also intercepted Rex Grossman with ~10 min. left in the 4th quarter (the drive after Hayden took a INT to the house to put us up 29-17) which did a lot to kill any chance of a comeback from the Bears.  Look how fast he closes on this ball:
    • hey, gotta think positive with all this doom and gloom around this year
    • Remember our argument a few months before Luck retired where you said Luck was elite and I said he didn't have the passion for the game and Mahomes would win a SB before him? That happened very quickly and I can at least say before Mahomes won a SB and Luck retired that I liked Mahomes over Luck.
    • I don't think Luck is netting anywhere near that type of return...just too much uncertainty at this point.
