Not sure why this thread was started but it should be obvious that most people have given up being mad.

But if the thread was intended to be funny, I guess it served that purpose. I would also like to thank Bob Irsay on behalf of the City of Baltimore. They wouldn't want this team back, under the Irsays' ownership.

its called being positive.

There's no harm at all in being optimistic.  I personally don't think the team is good but the division is trash so it wouldn't shock me by any means if they got back into the mix.. It's not like it would take a miricle to get back in the mix in this division but it would start with a win next week against a Titans team @ Tenn that will be difficult.

Honestly speaking, this HAS been the most complete showing by the Colts this season. That is encouraging. But they completely melted down in the end. And as much as we complain about it, I'd honestly start slow and finish fast.

Yes there are things they can build off this loss. But I just don't see em turning it around. This is one of those season changing losses. I'll gladly eat all the crow in the world if they prove me wrong.

So go out and prove me wrong colts.

Last night reminded me of 2013 and 2014 until the last 3 minutes. I was like yes everything is back to normal, then we just collapsed. Unreal!

I would just like to point out that what the Colts and their fans went through last night is something we have done to dozens of teams over the past 17 or so years. It happens. It sucks. It's a game. We learn as best we can and move on. Dwelling is to live in toxicity.

I will add this, its easy to be negative. It's much harder to be positive.

And as a side note, please let's cut out the Irsay drug talk. This is below us as fans. The man is battling an addiction that consumes millions. He's human. He has his demons same as anyone. His are amplified due to his stature while luckily ours are hidden in anonymity.

That was a heck of a game. Offense looked really efficient,  Luck had time for most of the game, and gore ran for 100 yards . The defense looked really good for 50 mins and although the game didnt go as planned, I couldn't be more proud of you guys. we're 2-4 yes, but we still have 10 games to turn this around and I know you guys will. thank you and god bless.

Look, I'm no X's & O's guy. But, here's what I find most troubling:

We can't put the nail in our opponent's proverbial NFL coffin. Good teams consistently do that. They either overpower you thru the air or on the ground or they collectively say "Okay, I'm tired of toying with you. It's time to put this game away, step on your symbolic throat, & end this game for good slamming the door firmly shut."

If we didn't have McAfee on punts & Adam V on FGs, we'd be a laughing stock every single week. We really would. Come on, be honest. Pags deserves the right to finish out this yr. Beyond that, every thing is on the table.

Brock Oz played horribly for almost 3 QTRs of football & still won the game. Just sad.

chargers have put up 30 points on basically everyone and the broncos have one of the top defenses

And we are in last place in arguably the worst division in football I don't care how close we are to winning these games sad thing is this is supposed to be the easier part and we still can't even get above 500

And we play the Titans and chiefs two very winnable games that can get us back to .500

Cool just in time to get our a***** beat by the good teams whoopie. that's if we even beat the chiefs and titans. titans are one of the best rushing teams this year and we are one of the worst rushing Ds. KC had a bad game against the Texans and lost to the 1st or second best team in the AFC in the steelers. This team is as bad as people are making it out to be we gave up 14 points to Brock freaking Osweiler in 4 mins. He looked like Joe Montana once he got out of his slump.

Chuck? Is that you?

Seriously though this team was awful for plenty of that game. Talk about NO RUN DEFENSE.

We are only winning 4 more games this year

If that's what it will finally take for Irsay to make changes at HC and GM then I'm good with a season like that. Not to mention they'd have a top 7 pick to land a top defensive playmaker or trade down for multiple picks.

I realize that there is still a lot of football to be played yet & I did like how our OL looked last night under Philbin.

Remember, when Arthur Blank owner of the Falcons fired Mike Smith & hired Dan Quinn from the SeaHawks?

He said something to the effect of Mike's a great guy, but he's never gonna take this franchise where we need to go. Neither Pags or Grigs are gonna take us to the Promise Land. It over. Keep Philbin as our OL coach if possible, but any other musical chair move you wanna make Jimmy is A Okay to me.

This isn't a popularity contest. It's about winning Lombardi trophies period.

I also would like to know why INDY hires or promotes people who fail to make sideline or halftime adjustments?

Jim Caldwell...Chuck Pagano...Our next GM & HC, I wanna hear how they are gonna protect Luck & take less hits every single game?

I don't wanna see Andrew squander away his prime yrs, get shell shocked, & turn into David Carr early in his NFL career. I've seen enough of this regime to know that the Colts do not have a winning formula right now. It's more like a morgue or trauma ward in terms of front office direction & on the field leadership.

This team is looking better every game. We have played 3 top 11 defenses. Jacksonville is 8th total defense with 8 rated pass defense, Chicago 11th total defense with 10th rated pass defense and Houston 7th total defense with 2nd rated pass defense. Against top ranked defenses we have lost them by less than a touchdown or won. Denver has the 4th total defense with 1st rated pass defense and we lost that by 14 points. This team is not as bad as what everyone makes it out to be. If we were we would be losing week after week by 14 points or more. The Oline is looking better and better every week especially after they got Goode back at RG and moved Haeg to RT. The defense will be rebuilt next year after every free agent on defense who is over 30 will not be brought back.

Everyone has to remember we are in rebuild mode now and there will be rough times. The first 4 years were given to Pagano and Grigson as Super Bowl or bust. That time is over now. They got extensions to give them time to rebuild the team now through the draft and build the team we have been told we would get. It will take time to get there.

We only played 2 teams above .500 and the rest of our schedule is even worst. Minn, GB, Oak, KC, Hou again,

    • But if the Colts sign someone next week or the week after then it really doesn’t matter.    I would’ve preferred we sign some two weeks ago.   Get them familiar with the DC and position coach.   But once we didn’t then it really doesn’t matter when.  It just matters that we do it before camp opens.  At least to me.    And the fact no one else is signing these top FA safeties tells me the market just isn’t there yet.   I’m preaching a healthy dose of patients.
    • How about getting a proven commodity in the FA market? I know that assumes the player wants to be here, but money talks and the Colts have some. This D needs a solid center fielder. Simmons fits that role perfectly. If he’s gettable, here’s to Ballard pulling the trigger, even if it’s a slight overpay. The team CANNOT leave this crucial position to players who have consistently underperformed in the past (Cross and Thomas).
    • All - this is the real question.   What do the 32 GMs in the league know that the rest of us (we're on the outside looking in) don't know?   Answer that question and you'll have what you need to analyze the choices made by the leadership of your favorite team.
    • We have the weak secondary where a player in FA can be signed for a year and get a starting job. We also have the money to afford any of them. Not too many other teams have that combination of both factors right now. Also, the draft recently happened and I'm guessing a lot of these teams want to try out their early round picks in the secondary right now. We didn't draft anyone in the secondary until the 5th round. We are somewhat desperate (not to mention Daniel Scott is out for the year again). Other teams are not at the moment.
    • Why do you think A and B are the only options?    What’s the reason for Ballard to be cheap?   What incentive would there be?    Posters like Superman and w87r have crunched the numbers.  The Colts are among the league leaders in spending.     Ballard’s is going into his 8th year.  He’s been competitive in 6 of the 8 seasons and I personally think season 1 was a tank.    Also…. Ballard always says the team is always looking to improve.  It’s now mid-June, so the Colts have 5 more weeks to sign someone before camp starts.  There are a number of FA safeties available.  Why aren’t the other 31 teams signing these players either.  They’re certainly good enough.  But it’s Ballard who is wrong or incompetent or cheap or something and not anyone else.
