I joined this board (after over 30 years of being a colt fan) just to convey my discontent to anyone who would listen over Jim Caldwell. I found not only that I wasn't alone, but that there many like minded folk here.

I'm never happy when someone losses their job, but I always feel that the best will always be employed and I live by the mantra that you should always try to improve yourself in every way you can.

Good Luck Coach.

So sorry Jim.

We know you did your best. Worst luck possible losing your star qb, it could not help but affect your gameplan. Losing season, fans turning against you, but I wish you only the best.

I always respected you're intelligence and the quiet dignity you showed on the sidelines.

Good luck in your future endeavors and  from me to you.

I wish he had handled 2011 differently. Not the greatest coach, and I always knew that, but I like the way he handled 2009, up until Week 16. His flaws started to show in the Super Bowl, also. But, as has been mentioned, a great man, despite the disparagement he took at the hands of some fans who didn't like his facial expressions.

Still, this is a good thing for the Colts. There are several better options available right now, and -- if we handle this right, and don't just hand the job to someone -- we can have a great coach.

Of course we may never know how good of a coach he could have been with the way he was manhandled by Polian & Son in strategic decisions as well as being handed a roster this year full of 3rd tier players. Just given the situation, yes probably time for him to go and do respect the person very much.

Sometimes you need a coach who can assert himself to get things done their way. I never thought there could be someone quieter than Tony Dungy. When Tony spoke, people listened. Jim doesn't speak. Great guy, exactly who you want on a team besides maybe the Head Coach position.

Thank you Jim

For getting us to a Super Bowl

For getting us an AFC Championship

For getting us two AFC South Championships

For keeping the players fighting

For keeping your players' respect

For that great win against the Texans this season

For getting us to the playoffs in your second season, despite overwhelming injuries

For your quiet dignity in a really rough business

For keeping the ship afloat during this really trying time and making your successor's job just a little bit easier.

I really wish you could have been HC for one more year. But instead I'll just have to wish you the best of luck with all your future endeavors
