I'm for anything that makes running on our boys more difficult. His height is an assett too, it is tricky to throw over or around a big wingspan. A batted ball can be a game changer. You should be disturbed...at how great of a deal we got. Addai came to us for the perfect dollar amount; especially since he is 100% better in the passing/blocking aspects of the game than anyone on that list. None of those guys would run any better either, given the state of our line (as of last year).

I'm guessing it's because the average football/Colts fan doesn't know more than a handful of DT names...

This guy could be a 1st down, run-stuffing DE or DT, and a situational guy to bait something out of an offense. He's large, strong, has huge reach, and has a penchant for sniffing out the run.

This isn't the kind of blockbuster trade that many colts were hoping for, but it could be the kind of pickup that makes a serious difference on our defense. If this guy can make a difference on run downs, that would be a huge deal for us

Yeah, and that wingspan makes it easier for him to capture the attention of more than one offensive lineman freeing up the edge.

He hasn't lived up to the expectations of being a 1st round pick and he isn't a strong pass rusher, but he has played DT and is decent at stopping the run, exactly what we need. Good pick up!

No, it was the guys on Sirius, they weren't overly high on him, but definitely were not talking in terms of him being a bust.

I think he'd be better suited playing DT and adding some bulk this offseason and he'd be a great DT. If he moved him he'd have good speed at the position since he was playing DE as a pass rusher, and adding a bit more bulk would help plug up the middle. I think its a good pick up and hopefully he can help out in the middle. Now if only we could get some linebackers.

I have been reading that he is good against the run, so maybe he can clog up the middle if we use him as a DT, which is what we need. He can't be any worse than Dawson. I'm willing to give any unknown DT a chance... I'm that desperate for DL talent.

I'm not sure how no one is talking about it, there were 2 or three threads about it yesterday. It's not all that exciting because he's considered a bust in Atlanta. He has excellent size but he's not that strong and I'm not sure where a penchant for sniffing out the run came from. He's was drafted to be a pass rushing specialist who has 4.5 sacks in 4 years.

I think he will be a pass rushing DT and in certain situations be that "power" end that Coyer likes.

Addai is better and less trouble than Benson.

Sproles is nothing more than a 3rd down back...Addai can do what he does AND play every down

Marion the Barbarian is broken down and close to being done.

Deangelo Williams deserved the money he got. Glad he showed loyalty to the Panthers

Bradshaw can't seem to hold on to the ball right now, anyway. Addai doesn't fumble often.

For the price, knowing what kind of team we are, I'd take Addai with his contract over any of these.

As for the topic...Hopefully we can make this guy work out. Could be the answer for some of the problems on defense if we can unlock his potential.

If this guy could put 40lbs on that tall lanky frame I might be more excited about this move. Just not sure that he has what it takes to play on the inside of the line and he's not that good of a DE so we shall see.

I always get this confused guys so please straighten me out. The article quoted above says he will be "left defensive end" on running situations. Which position is left defensive end? I can't remember if the perception of left is from the linebacker's perspective or the opposing QB's perspective. In other words, will he sub in for Mathis or Freeney? I'm excited either way, but I'm just looking forward to what I will be seeing in the pre-season opener in a few days.
