What's worse than 5-2?

Going to a casino 115 miles away for the weekend on your honeymoon and loosing all of your money you took, and your car breaking down needing an additional $600 ok repairs. That? Yeah, that was my weekend.

.

brings back memories of my honeymoon

we went to Jamaica

the return flight was cancelled so they put us up at a motel.  Apparently at some point they announced to everyone but us.....what time the flight was in the am

in the am our phone rang and someone told us to hurry up, our flight was leaving

we hurried up in time to see our flight leaving without us

spent the day and the night in the Montego bay airport which at the time was quite small and they turned the lights out when they all went home for the day

I did fall asleep but something bit me............I woke in the am with one eye swollen shut and one finger swollen to twice it's size

Let's just dive straight into it, shall we?

What's worse than 5-2?

Being a Seahawks fan.

What's worse than 5-2?

Eric Walden's ejection. That was a total fabrication. The league should start fining officials for that kid of crap.

But I got to hold Waylon Jennings guitar and hang out with my buddy Shooter Jennings and members of Waylon's touring and recording band. So yeah, it wasn't a total wash.

Running out of Guinness. :-(

Whiplash.

I'd imagine being Terence Newman, and seeing Bradshaw running at you would be pretty bad.

He got hurt because he used his helmet as a weapon and tried to hurt Luck.  Only problem is that Luck got up and he didn't.

Good, he can stay down for all I care.  He shouldn't be playing football.  It's a dangerous enough sport when people are playing it without trying to hurt anyone.  You don't need a player in there who likes to lead with the helmet and twist ankles.

Wow. That's rough.

A month later we went to the Bahamas because my husband had won a trip there.  We really didn't want to go, for obvious reasons but, it was a free trip to the Bahamas.

It was a really bad winter, which is why flights were constantly being cancelled and we were taking a small flight to ohare and connecting to a large plane there

well, the small airport was cancelling flights and ours was cancelled..........luckily as this was through work.........there was an exec at our airport in the same situation.

He chartered a small plane and we flew up to ohare

unfortunately.,.due to traffic.........air traffic control sent us to circle joliet for 2 hours while we waited for a turn to land

we were running out of fuel but finally ohare said we could land

which we did...........in time to see our flight take off without us

We waited at ohare all day on standby and finally got a flight.............

when we arrived at our hotel, they told us that since we didn'tt show up...........they had given our room away

so we waited in the lobby for hours for a room

After that the trip was good

Flying back........we got stuck in miami and had to spend the night there

waited on stand by most of the next day and finally got back home

I'm not keen on flying.........especially not in the winter

A lot of people on the Bengals board were calling him out for always leading with his helmet too which will probably lead to him having a short career.

Was browsing through some Bengals sites and they think Vontea should get a year long suspension for a "illegal" hit to defenseless receiver . Thought it was hilarious for a few reasons there is no defenseless receiver behind LOS and at the same time they were chatting about how those Ankle twists were totally legal and a normal football move .

That hit is legal anywhere on the field, defenseless or not.

    • I agree to  point, it depends upon what the demands are.  But Mannings should have the clout to influence, maybe not control, Arch's destiny (if he's going to be that good, we don't know that yet).  And in a way, I'm not sure the NFL FO would get in the way a lot as to not see one of its potential stars....in terms of play and name legacy...get ruined by a bad organization and out of the NFL in a short time.   I think the chances of your prognostication happening are decent.  It will be interesting.
    • I think the  Peyton would not  want him going to Indy. You would have the never ending comparisons and I believe that was part of Eli not wanting to play for the Chargers. I could be wrong but I believe they wanted him in the NFC. The bigger point is also that if it came to be that  the Colts had the pick when Manning was available. That would also be an indication that the Colts would be a dumpster fire and they would probably want no part of it.  Based on wins, losses, lack of play off success, FO office drama. I bet the Colts has lost some of it's value. Sure it is still worth billions but no doubt the shine is no longer there
    • No, and this is not news.  For a while, folks have been leaning on the Buckner trade as being a great (use of) pick.  But Buck was known as a very good NFL player already, which is not the same thing as using picks on college players you think should be good.  The college evaluation/valuation process has not been good.  That's pretty evident, IMO.
    • Easiest way to fix the Colts defense is to fire Gus Bradley. First it was Michael Lombardi (who I generally don't agree with) who said that Gus defense is simple and now even JJ Watt has said that he runs a defense that doesn't make adjustments for the opponent and defensives that that don't do that generally fail in the NFL. It's interesting to see two weeks in and more and more people are coming out and saying that " Bradley's system is ineffective."   It won't help us much this year but I do believe that Bradley's system is holding back the talent on the defense and him having favorites puts blinders on improving positions (Facyson).
    • When  it is his draft year, he will most likely be the number 1 pick if he continues to excel. There is not doubt in my mind that if the team that is picking is a complete dumpster fire. The Mannings will pull another Eli. They will have a lot of control and the team that is drafting him will have to give into the Manning's recommendations. Thats the way it should be. I always said Bryce Young would be a bust due to his body makeup. That being said, he is getting no help in Carolina and it basically looks like his career is over after only 2 years. This will not happen to Manning. I bet if  Manning's draft year next  was in 2025 and Carolina had the pick.  The Mannings would probably have a list of demands before even entertaining the thought of Manning going there and that is the way it should be.
