Emmanuel Sanders is so much better than Eric Decker

Yep. I know actual perspective is difficult for you because this Denver team is the exact same one that Decker played on for two seasons. But hey don't let reality get in the way of a good argument.

Denver D has nothing to do with Decker dropping passes and tripping on grass.

Get real.

And more chances of tripping and dropping too which Decker did quite often and he also was begging at the refs for every drop he made.

Wow. What is your beef with Decker? Honestly. He was one of Manning's top if not the best target for two years. I don't remember all this hate from you the last two seasons when he was catching all those TDs.

They have nearly the exact time of possession this year as they did last year on average. Actually about 15 seconds less this year than last

Not talking about ToP but actual possessions. Also, the D effects field position both in terms of turnovers and stops and also how the offense is called depending on the score. This years D is significantly better in yards and points which helps the O.

Yes. And his number one receiver was Decker who Revis was covering. Go figure. Not too bad for a bum in your view, right?

Well, now Decker will have Percy Harvin to go with that offense. That should help.

Granted Genzeroawareness Smith will still be throwing him balls....ten yards in to the stands.

You are making my point. Sanders is a guy for between the 20's. He helps you get in the red zone. Decker scored double digit TDs in each of his two seasons with Denver. He was a guy Manning would go to in the red zone and he also had the ability to catch the ball and take it to the house as well. Both are great for different reasons. If I had to choose, I would take the guy that scores TDs but that is just me.

In terms of the Denver offense, I would put Julius Thomas ahead of Sanders. He has 7 TDs so far and 20 catches and averaging 11.3 per catch. He has been their most valuable player on O so far.

Its going to be interesting to see how Elway handles Julius Thomas, Demarius Thomas and Von Miller all coming to the end of their rookie deals.  All 3 of them are going to demand top of the market value... In Julius Thomas' case he will demand top 3 TE money.. Von Miller will demand top 3 DE/OLB money and Demarius Thomas will demand top 5 WR money

Chris Harris is also a pro bowl CB and his deal is up as well.

Denver is completely loaded from top to bottom with talent on both sides of the ball, but they're definitely going to be cap strung after next year.

Yeah, Sanders is better than Decker between the 20s just like expected due to his speed for separation. But because he does not have a big body to shield defenders and is not a polished route runner (yet), his red zone game is lacking. However, given Peyton's bring up to pace of younger wide outs as evidenced with Garcon, Collie etc. in the past, it is not a stretch to think that Sanders will soon start getting those TDs. Decker was a polished route runner due to which he was drafted before Peyton got there, IMO.

Besides, Cody Latimer is waiting in the wings as well, now that could be scary because that guy's potential has the speed of Sanders and the body control of a Decker in the red zone.  :)

Give credit where it is due, Elway has done a great job of mixing it up with his wide outs and prolonging Peyton's career. Sometimes, it seems like Peyton and Brady just won't go away, much to the chagrin of a few fans.

I really wish the Patriots got Sanders... that Amendola contract is totally screwing us, because thats basically what Sanders would have played for.  He really liked the Pats too, but they had so much tied up in Amendola and didn't really get to see his "potential" because of his injuries last year..  He has like 5 catches on the season right now lol...   UGH!

I wish the Patriots were investing as much to help Brady, but most of their moves have been with young guys from the draft that take years to develop.  If Edelman went down, their offense would be a total nightmare.

Its pretty astonishing that the Pats are the 7th ranked offense in the league given the talent on the team.

Elway has done a fantastic job of loading up Manning with every player he needs to be successful on O. And he ramped up the D as well. I wish Bill had done the same for Brady in his later years but it is never going to happen it looks.

Yea its brutal to watch..the only silver lining is that when Manning and Brady retire, the Patriots are going to be more competitive than the Broncos.. they're in Win Now mode, the Patriots just consistently try to make the best decisions to keep them competitive this year and future years.

The Denver vs New England game is going to be a good one!

I'm thinking it might be tough to keep both receivers. I see they opted for the 5th year on Von Miller... so they can pay him the 9 mill in 2015 or do another deal.

I do think the Patriots will be better off than the Broncos in a few years, but I don't see them exactly being a dominant force either. Unless someone lights a fire under the Jets, Dolphins or Bills they'll still likely win the East every year as long as Brady is there. The QB skill gap is just too wide. Geno is the worst in football, Orton is a hasbeen and I'm not sold on Tannehill whatsoever. None of those teams have a reliably dominant D to carry a liability at QB all the way to the playoffs. Of the lot, Miami is the closest.

Indy, on the other hand....  Win it all or not this season, this is the most complete we've been as a team since....well...a long, long time. I don't see us declining any time soon.

    • I get the “old school” mentality of the current logo but it would look very sharp to have a horseshoe on the field instead.  I have to admit I cringe when I see the low quality helmet logo when watching home games
    • The Pacers by winning last night gives them their 11th appearance in the Final 8 as an NBA franchise since the league went to 16 teams in 1984 making the playoffs. 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2024.   -Eastern Conference Finals appearances = 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2013, 2014. (8)   -NBA Finals appearances = 2000. (1)   -No NBA Championships but still a very good franchise looking at those numbers. The year the Pacers won the East (2000), they had to face Shaq, Kobe, and Phil otherwise we win it all that season and Reggie has his ring.    -I will go by since 1984 but here is my all-time Pacers team since 1984: PG - TY Haliburton SG - Reggie Miller SF - Paul George PF - Myles Turner (I have Turner here/Rik is my Center. C - Rik Smits 6th Man - PF - David West   My HeadCoach is Larry Bird. From 1998-2000 he made the Conference Finals in all 3 seasons he coached and the Finals in 2000.
    • I could see Slovis challenging Ehlinger for QB3. He's more athletic than Ehlinger and showed flashes of a potential 1st round QB prospect as a freshman at USC. Some stability and a chance to reset might be exactly what he needs. His upside is WAY higher than Ehlinger's and we've already seen him do it. It's just a matter of if he can get back to that level of play.
    • I don't understand this, so please explain.     This is how I see it based upon what we know.   By accounts, Purdy has played better than Jimmy G.  If you believe the training camp stories where the players were telling media and the coaches that Purdy was the real deal when he got a chance to play in TC, Purdy was good right away and need little actual development by NFL coaches.   If Lynch knew this would happen, why did he wait until the very last pick of the drat to select Purdy?  To say it wasn't luck, but rather skill and knowledge, you'd have to believe that...going into the draft... Lynch knew Purdy would be good (or else why pick him), and also knew that not one other team thought he would be good, so he knew he could just wait until pick 250..    He knew the other GMs thought Purdy would not even be even good right away, but not even a good enough prospect to take a flyer on him and snipe him at pick 249?  Sure, he benefits from Shanahan's system, but my goodness, his success is not THAT system dependent that some team would not have selected him in round 4, 5, 6, 7. with all of the comp picks added on as merely a prospect.  They all ignored Purdy.      How do folks hold the GM player evaluation process in such high regard when we all know that GMs miss.  Both with picking busts and missing good players.  Why is pointing that out a negative?  We all know it.  And why does Ballard deserve to be shielded from it?
    • Maybe he needs lessons in how to manage his image and draft stock as the more he does this type of stuff, he could drop out of the Top 5 that his Dad feels he would go at. With 6 teams taking QBs this year, and 3 last year, in Round 1, the demand won't be as high and the supply will still be good enough. If his OL doesn't protect him well like during their losing streak, is he going to throw his OL under the bus next? I rarely see Deion or Shedeur taking ownership of their on the field issues or have the humility to say "it was my fault". They talk like they are in denial that a team could shellack them or they always lost to a team that they could have beat, that is the impression that I get, and it gets old.
