I ready prefer him much more than Donald Brown. He almost looks as fast but he can just break tackles and drags guys all over the place. Really wish the guy was already our #2 and that's just after 2 preseason games. Im sure he can block better and also can catch relatively well. Really looking forward for him eventually being the #2 if Delone can remain healthy and play consistent.

What they do in the 2nd half is mostly meaningless because most of those opposing players aren't NFL caliber.

It would be nice to see if Carter could do anything with the #1 line though.

Nevis played with the #1s when they gave up nearly 200 yards rushing in a half

It looks like Carter is the new guy to get all the RB love, kinda like Hart was a few years back. I am with you though, lets see what the kid has with some reps in the #1 group before we mark him down as the RB saviour here. As for Nevis, he is a young DT with lots of good and bad. He shows great motor and spirit and hopefully over the season, the bad becomes far less than the good.

Calm down. Proclaiming anyone a beast in the preseason is just a touch premature, especially when considering the quality of competition that Carter was up against at the time.

Did you also see Lefeged over pursue on a run on that video. We need to cut him and get a quality back-up. Guy made a mistake in the preseason. What a horrible player.

Brackett over ran the play also. They did a pretty poor job on that one.

I never get too excited over film clips, especially from the preseason. That being said, it would sure be nice if we have enough for a five minute highlight reel after the first half of the GB game.

There is really not one true part in this sentence. It's not meaningless, many of the players for the Redskins in the 3rd quarter were their primary back-ups and you look at things like, did he get all the yards available to him, did he hit the correct hole, did he take the hand off in the correct manner. There is a lot of things to look for and that have meaning in the second half.

Outside of two plays (one of which I broke down exactly what each player did in another thread) the run defense did really well. And of the one I broke down the Redskins tried running the same play later in the game, the key players that made mistakes on the first play did not make the same mistakes and stopped the play for a one yard gain. That is what preseason is for to work on issues like that.

I think we have a great RB in Delone Carter, reminds me of Frank Gore.

Awww man thats right on the money right there he runs just like gore, hopefully the line can give him some holes. Hopefully he can bee a really good blocker though i dont put too much emphasis on the whole blocking deal but once he can and produce well as a runner who knows he could even start.

I wouldnt say he's as fast cause brown ran a 4.38 and he ran a 4.45 keep in mind those are their lows, but he is really quick for his size.

Reminds me of Jones-Drew but slightly bigger. I don't care if he's a rookie, this kid needs solid minutes, not just short yardage plays.

I was hoping to see the resemblence to Jones Drew the last game myself, because JD is a terror on the

field against the Colts, but......Carter don't have Earl Campbell esque legs like JD does.

    • Wilson IMO is too much like Downs. Not sure we would want to pick another predominantly slot player.    IMO the players that make the most sense at WR are - AD Mitchell, Ladd(he again plays a bit of slot, but he's also a bit more versatile, he's played about 75% of his snaps in other alignments), Troy Franklin - he can be a Z for us... Jermaine Burton?!? if he's cleared character-wise?? I like Malik Washington but he's predominantly slot too so not sure he's a fit here.    BTW... this guy is projected as a day 3 pick... but because of the general lack of that type of player after Troy Franklin(fast Z) I can see him being pushed up... maybe get drafted mid-late R3 - he's like budget version of Xavier Worthy- Anthony Gould.    Maybe DeVontez Walker? Although he had such a bad Senior Bowl, I'd be surprised if Ballard goes for him.
    • While having 6 QBs go in the first 12 picks pushed some talent towards us... it probably also contributed to it being extremely hard for Ballard to trade up. It's just way too hard to make teams move away from QBs or to outbid teams who are bidding for their QB. I think 5 was probably our best chance for trade up... Arizona reportedly completely shut down any offers - they just wanted MHJ and they took him. 5 was probably our best chance, but it probably was way too steep of a price. Giants probably didn't want to move from Nabers, division rival Titans not great trade partner, Atlanta... wanted a freaking QB for some reason?!?!? Then Bears got their dream player drop to them and IMO that was probably the last chance we had.
    • I wouldn't mind if we traded up early if we picked one of these three players: 1. Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper 2. Iowa CB Cooper DeJean 3. Texas WR Adonai Mitchell
    • Round 2/3 Wishlist 1. Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper 2. Iowa CB Cooper DeJean 3. Texas WR Adonai Mitchell 4. Rutgers CB Max Melton 5. Michigan LB Junior Colson 6. Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley 7. Minnesota S Tyler Nubin 8. Iowa State CB T.J. Tampa 9.Oregon WR Troy Franklin
    • Finally CB drafted a Edge with production, not only high RAS. But then it's a guy with big injury concerns. Anyway....any player can get a serious injury on any given play. So, welcome to Indy! Give everything you have on the field and stay healthy!   Gotta find a DB and WR in round 2. Think DeJean is still on the board?! Round 2 is probably where his value is.
