Brady's off-season escapes continue. This time a game of pick up basketball with Jordan, http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2015/03/29/michael-jordan-tom-brady-play-a-game-of-pickup-basketball/

Safer than cliff diving at least. lol.

Actually probably not. Cliff jumping is safer unless the water was shallow but that would be known and you wouldn't jump.

Actually I would rather him cliff dive...much less chance to tear an acl...mcl bumping into a guy or driving the lane. Can't live your life in fear but we see it all too often.

If Brady died the Pats would still go 11-5

Belichek is pretty dag gone good but I'm not so sure of that. I think Jimmy might make a good qb down the road but I'm not so sure he is ready to be a playoff qb just quite yet. Nice thing is that offense can be set up to run well with a lesser qb....it won't be elite without Brady but it can still run well.

I can already see the first time Tom Brady meets up with Bill Belichick. "The Look" from B.B. to T.B. will be priceless! :)

Based on that cliff jump JJ, Brady had no idea how deep that water really was or the placement of jagged rocks just beneath the surface. Basketball with Jordan is much safer.

Okay, sure Tom can mess up his wrist, his ankle, or his knee, but the cliff drop itself had too many unknown variables & hidden dangers in my estimation.

In addition, who knows what kind sea life was swimming around in the water either from parasites to getting bit or stung by something etc.

Does this mean Brady will by parachuting out of airplane next off season for kicks too? Just curious...

A bunch of crazy country boys showed me how to dive off a bridge 40 feet high into a river, but we had to dive over the bridge rail first. Man that water was cold. Btw, Brady looked absolutely scared to death.

Diving head first is just too dangerous. Knew a person who dove off a cliff and ended up nearly paralyzed.

Oh no you know the depth from people who've been there and jumped and you can spot the rock terrain to see if its safe (easy to clear)

. Also scum in the water- well there's a waterfall right there. Liked where I jumped it was a pool in a river that was flowing.

The only hard part is getting the nerve if you don't care for heights.

Yeah -JJ-, have done lots of platform diving when I was younger. It can still be a little un-nerving at times even after hundreds of dives.

The largest concern with Brady's successful jump dive has already been posted by SW1. Parasites. Yes, highly unlikely next to a raging waterfall, I know. Still could affect him later on down the road here if infected. Just sayin' .....

yeah I suppose anything can happen but if he can play with a temp of a 104 then he can play with parasites LOL  - actually that's easy to fix with antibiotics.

I only jumped once ( I don't like heights) but it was something I said I have to do once in my life. It was a rush for sure but once was enough :)

The place I jumped up in Maine was about 30'.  That was scary enough.

Upstream the locals would go off a 40' cliff..but they climbed a pine tree and used a branch to swing out to catapult over the rocks as it wasn't a straight drop to the water.  No way I was doing that. they were crazy.

Sebago Lake?

When I worked in NH we sometimes had people sign up for climbing lessons who were afraid of heights... they deliberately sought out activities to overcome their fears. It was awesome to see when they would sort of "break through." We always tried to help them as much as we could... I used the Stephen Wright line more than once ("Actually, I'm afraid of widths.")

Willing yourself to do something when every instinct is telling you NOT to is a great thing.  :D

Sebago Lake?

Swift River, Byron Me.  They still pan for gold there.

It pooled up in a spot. On the main side there was a nice big flat rock you could sun in and jump maybe 8'. That was fun.

On the other side and you had to swim over , there was a 25' to 30' cliff to jump off. The upstream a bit was where the locals did their crazy jumps. Actually as I remember they climbed a small pine tree and used the whole tree to swing out tree to catapult off of.

Our base camp was in Weld Me on Lake Blue. I climbed mount tumbledown. Not as professional as you lol but it was a steep trail.

You get to the top and there's a small crystal lake on top. Virgin. It is called Crater lake.

Awesome stuff, I know the area well. There are tons of spots like that throughout the National Forest up there, some far enough out-of-the-way that they don't get much traffic. Gotta watch those old rope swings but they're a blast, lol...

Stephen Wright is "awesome!" Greatest witty-dry humor-comedian of all time, IMO! :)

Has anybody here ever heard of Wakulla Springs (Wakulla River) in Florida? It's not quite up there with Niagara Falls in fame but it has a reputation around the world. That's where they filmed all the Tarzan movies and that's where the infamous High Dive was for years. Unfortunately, they tore it down before I was old enough to try it.

I did get to try a swing on the Wacissa River that my father built.

IT. WAS. WILD.

The ladder (boards nailed between 2 trees) went up about 50 feet and the rope swing was about a foot to short so that it would woosh you through the air safely. The catch to that of course is that you had to be willing to take off with 1 hand of the handle as you stood atop the ladder using the other hand for balance, then grasp the handle safely within seconds on taking off and have some strong forearms. The game warden tore that one down without even making an official act by the state out of it though...he just tore it down because it was ao dangerous.

No I haven't and I was born there too. I didn't know that's where Tarzan was filmed. I was in central FLA and we went by speed boat from lake to lake though locks to go to  Silver Springs which is pretty cool.

Fair enough. Thanks for the diving protocol procedure JJ.
