Anybody other than myself want to see someone else returning punts. .. I hear everyone saying he's sure handed, but my god no burst, play making ability, or vision... With that being said he's a good receiver and should be featured more on 3rd downs. Just not feeling him as our punt returner

I like Griff as a punt returner under normal circumstances. However, if we need a spark or something to give us momentum, I believe TY should go back there and give it a go.

He did look pretty good at it in pre season . Griff is pretty shifty and has good vision as a returner that return brought back showed he can make things happen .

I definitely don't want TY returning punts. Don't want to take the chance of injury doing so. I would like to see Purifoy or Moncrief as punt returners.

Well if it's not Griff they most likely will use T.Y. which is NOT good!!!

Wish they would use Purifoy. Has big play potential but hands are questionable!

Not true at all...he had some very good returns at the end of last season and in the playoffs...short memory

First responsibility of a punt returner is to secure possession. I'm fine with Griff doing it. If someone else can secure possession like he does, and provides some more return ability, I'm all for it. But Purifoy doesn't have my vote, given his muffed punt in preseason.

Purifoy took some chances in the preseason too. The one time he fielded the ball inside the 10 he was able to get the edge but it was the wrong play should have let it go in the endzone. I think he fielded it at like the 6 I remember thinking oh no.

 

I think the staff looked pretty hard at PR's this off season. I was hoping for someone more explosive like Rainy but he couldn't keep it together maybe. As you said the number one job is to secure possession.  I will add make good decisions. Griff does that.

 

Moncrief has never returned punts and in my opinion doesn't look comfortable on Kick Offs don't think that is happening. I wouldn't be surprised to see Purifoy get a chance tonight.

 

I agree I don't  want to see TY back there unless it is an emergency last play of the game or some crazy circumstance.

Moncrief. Griff is a tank with one gear, and I would rather have him using his hands to make catches in the passing game.
