Reich won’t give up play calling duties after 0-2 start

Reich clarified that he will not be handing over the play-calling duties as the Panthers continue to search for a spark to light up the offense.

It's still very early. But the team looks unprepared...

The panthers deserve everything they’re getting after hiring a guy right off the fire bus.

The Bears might end up being the big winner in this. Sure their team sucks, that's because their QB is horrible. But they have the Panthers #1 pick, so much like the Cardinal's, who have the Texans #1 pick, it's a race to the bottom..

But - that is the trend in the NFL every single season.

The voices are starting to grow in discontent with Reich around Carolina already... A lot are upset with the lack of creativity on the offense.

When Frank Reich first took over as our Coach, he put in a system that fit Andrew perfectly. He also mixed in some trick plays and he went for it a lot. He was far from stale. That Frank seems long gone. After watching the Panthers play on Monday Night, I would rather watch paint dry. That was bad.

Took a quick lurk trip over at the panthers forums and they’re already tired of him. Lol

 

i still think Frank can be a successful coach, but his unwillingness to give up playcall duties is what I hated about him here.  Some head coaches can do it and some can’t, doesn’t make them a bad coach.  Just by the play design I can tell Shane is better at playcalling than Reich.  
 

Do I think the panthers have enough talent to realistically compete?  No, but young looks LOST while AR and Stroud look to be getting the hang of it.  Who does that fall on, Bryce if he isn’t putting in the work but we all know who’s definitely playing a part in it.

Problem with Frank is I think he still lives in the 80’s! He still thinks the plays from when he was playing could still work in todays NFL. Some may, but most wont! He got lucky in Philly with a SB but that was mostly due to Pedersen’s play-calling. Good luck to him, I’m definitely glad that he’s not our coach anymore!

I heard just a "snippet" of a conversation on one of the ESPN morning sports talk shows - and - they were indicating that Frank Reich wasn't using Bryce Young the way he should be used.

 

FYI - Bryce Young is out this weekend with an ankle issue.
