But he as the QB still had to get the job done and play his position well. And he did that to get the team to 11-5. A team that went 2-14 the year before. Comparing Will to a once in a lifetime type of prospect in Luck is unfair to Will. If Luck would have had Henry in 2012, Colts probably at worse go to the AFC Title Game the way we were playing. 2006Coltsbestever
In other news, Stroud is now out too. It continues, doesn't matter if you are a QB that runs a lot or not. Stroud is a pure pocket passer and just got concussed like AR did.

husker61
Levis just put Tenn on his back and beat Miami! I will stick to my opinion that he is better than Richardson now and will be in the future. That doesn’t mean I hope richardson fails. I just think Levis has shown me everything I would like to see in a nfl qb, Richardson hasn’t yet.
Boondoggle
Levis was excellent in that game. Command at the LOS and resilient. Made big throws all night. But that resilience in how he played after the pick six is annoying to me. I was expecting to enjoy a nice night of him misfiring.

He suffered the same thing Jordan Love suffered, a good junior year followed by key staff and players leaving in the senior year. So Love dropped to No.26 and Levis fell to the 2nd round in an overreaction, IMO. AR was drafted with a low floor high ceiling expectations for 3 plus years like Lamar Jackson but with less starting experience. Both Stroud and Levis had higher floors, IMO but all their ceilings can’t be measured till their first 3 years in the league are over, IMO.

2006Coltsbestever
Ok, this is what I would call a great game by Levis, basically great 2nd half. Kid showed heart, took hits, and had some great passes in crunch time when it mattered. Great signature win for him. It is his night, Proud of the kid. At least I know when I see a great game, his 4th Qtr was beautiful football.

Here’s the thing I’m most worried about, Ballard. While the Titans drafted A J Brown, we felt what we had was good enough then. I’m hoping he realizes he needs to get more help for AR because I see the Jaguars getting Kirk, Ridley, Engram etc., Texans drafting Tank Dell and pretty soon more help for Stroud, and similar things I expect from Titans beyond Hopkins. Ballard has been the consistent stubborn one that I hope changes because he has to, that’s when AR can be very good, and doesn’t think what we have is enough. But let’s not overreact to 1 or 2 games of a rookie QB though. Stroud has put up more on the table than any other rookie QB so far. The second half of AR against the Rams was stellar, the way Levis’ fourth quarter versus Dolphins was. Thanks to Bradley, Rams won in OT, while Titans punched the Dolphins in the mouth and won. So the W can distract.

You have a guy like Lamar Jackson, Big Ben is around for a while, then Lamar wins MVP, the next step is expected. Burrow comes in, 2 years later he’s in the SB with better skill positions and roster construction with his rookie contract, but now they want more from Burrow too Since Mahomes won it in his rookie contract years first, expectations have gone up. One thing is for certain, Ballard has to maximize the rookie contract window. We just forget it took Peyton 9 years to get to and win one. Nowadays expectations are somewhat unrealistic from these QBs on rookie contracts.

husker61
Before the draft I wanted the colts to draft the top rush end or dt if they were available, if not trade down and maybe a top qb drops for some reason because it seems to happen a lot. I didn’t like drafting Richardson that high because all he showed in college was what he could be. That’s not enough for me, I want to see a lot more to use that high of a pick on a qb. As a colts fan it will suck if it turns out to be a bad pick. I would gladly admit I was wrong!

Quote I’m hoping he realizes he needs to get more help for AR Agreed for sure. I think people are overly critical of Pierce, but I still don't want Ballard to sit back and not upgrade the WR position this offseason. There are a couple of potential FAs that we should have our eye on, and the draft is promising as well.
Superman
Levis was really good at the end of the game tonight. It was looking pretty rough for most of the game, he sailed a lot of throws and was pretty inaccurate. But his pocket presence looks a lot better than it did a few weeks ago, he's a little more decisive, and even when I think he holds the ball too long, it seems like he has his eyes down field and isn't panicking.

I've thought that since his first game. I think he would benefit from taking off running a little sooner, both in converting plays and making himself more of a running threat. Like most QBs, he benefited when the defense seemed to be in prevent mode. His receivers were actually open. Before that, he was having to throw into a lot of tight windows. He looks like the makings of a good QB. He needs more help on offense, IMO.
