2020 Gavin Mock Draft, Rounds 1 - 7 (merge)

Alright, I figure I've tortured you all waiting for me long enough. Here comes the pick.

There are still a good few QBs on the board, but for those who know me, you'll know that I am much more excited about the 2021 class and am happy rolling with Rivers for another season. I know this will upset a whole lot of you, but quarterback is off the table for now.

After that, there are still a ton of talented prospects available. However, one stands out for me. My highest remaining rated player still on the board (who I have rated as the 32nd overall prospect, no less) is a great selection here, at a position of great need.

Thus, with the 75th pick in the 2020 Gavin Mock Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select:

KJ Hamler, WR, Penn State

Though we have already selected Michael Pittman Jr earlier in the draft, I feel as though Hamler is exactly what we need. He is a perfect replacement for the aging and declining TY Hilton, with elite speed and insane YAC potential. We now have, in one single draft, solved our problem at WR, and now, I feel, we are prepped to contend for a championship this year under Rivers.

What say you, Colts Nation? Yea or Nay to this pick!

I've unfortunately lost track, so whoever has the Buccaneers is next, if someone could tag them!

Brilliant BPA pick!!! Nicely done. Excellent pick for mixing up pass catchers in our system.

I say, thee, Yea! for resisting picking a QB

I say, thee, Yea! for picking multiple receivers in the draft

I just hope that Hamler doesn't turn out to be a Phillip Dorsett clone:  an undersized, fast WR with questionable hands.

Good pick (for now)!  :)

Also, Yea for avoiding the selection of a QB.  That being said, my #2 priority in the draft (after WR) is improving the OL depth.  We have exactly five NFL-quality OL on the team...

I think Hamler is way more TY than Dorsett.

With the 78th pick, The Atlanta Falcons select 3 year team captain and versatile 3 down LB that can play SAM or MIKE:

Logan Wilson, LB, Wyoming

I didn't know he's that good. Earlier in January, some boards had him projected in round 7, that was surprising then. Now he seems to be getting projected much much better overall. Any idea why some didn't think of him highly earlier? Was he from small school or division?

Mountain West conference doesn't get many TV spotlights nor the athletes on a consistent basis for most of us to pay attention.

Logan Wilson started rising after his Senior Bowl, then came his Pro Day when scouts from 22 teams were there:

https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/draft/denver-broncos-draft-board-wyoming-lb-logan-wilson-climbing

After the combine, it was reflected in his nfl.com rating as well:

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/logan-wilson?id=32195749-4c74-7370-743f-2000a41bbeba

When you have a team captain with no red flags that has been highly productive, that is the kind of guy most teams gravitate towards without worrying about the high floor the player can bring to the table.

Good morning!

The Jets continue their offensive stockpiling of weapons for Sam Darnold

1 - CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

2 - Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Auburn

3a - John Hightower, WR, Boise State

With the 79th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select

Albert Okwuegbunam, TE Missouri

The Los Vegas Raiders (ugh!) are now on the clock - x2

Let us go ahead and start taking pick suggestions.

Raiders need WR help.

I would suggest Donovan Peoples Jones, WR, Michigan

Ok. He is BPA at WR position.

Raiders have the next pick too. Should we make that pick or give the GM 2 more hours?

Let us make it their pick. Also, Raiders should like his athletic measurables from the combine.

With the 80th pick, The Las Vegas Raiders select Donovan Peoples Jones, WR, Michigan

Taking suggestions for the 81st pick since the Raiders also have the 81st pick. I do like Duvernay that @Archer suggested, also like Julian Okwara. @NFLfan @csmopar - thoughts???

@Archer - what do you think of Julian Okwara for the Raiders' defense? Mike Mayock is running the show along with Gruden for the most part there.

Raiders need LB, their run defense, especially in the second level,  is bad. They took Crosby and Ferrell last year and Kinlaw already. They have good DL, and secondary is okay too but they have nothing in the middle of the defense. Their coach worked with Zimmer and they'd like to get a quality linebacker in this draft.

If he's available, I think Troy Dye would be a good choice. Or Jordyn Brooks.

I was looking at a depth chart, and their interior OL looks like it could use some young blood, and the CB corp looks bad even after drafting Fulton and signing eli apple.  I'd say mayby Logan Stenberg?

I agree on the DL - they probably have other fish to fry.  That LB corps does look weak - though I heard some people praising the Littleton signing.  I'd be good with a LB or OG if I was drafting...
