Brees returning next season

His last shot. If I'm the Saints organization I do everything I possibly can to get this man ammunition on offense and defense.

Last year showed no signs of decline.  Highest passer rating in his career.

Thing is that he does have a lot of ammunition to work with already.

That's fair. Maybe revamped O-line? Or perhaps some kind of voodoo so they don't play the Vikings in the playoffs anymore...

IDK, I was shocked they where one and done in the playoffs.  Team won a bunch of games with their backup and seemed loaded.

I hope that Drew Brees makes it to the Super Bowl next year and loses a shootout to the Colts. If that can't happen then I would love to see him win another Super Bowl. He is a great player and from everything I've ever seen and heard is just as good of a person off the field as he is on it. Good luck in 2020 Drew!

I believe they've already sold their soles for that one SB.

The Saints lost the NFC championship game on the last play of the game for two years and that is feeding the beast.

What do u think they have been doing since Brees has been with the Saints??? Maybe Mr.Brees should stop asking for top dollar everyone  year.

I get you. They still have work to do with that defense, specifically against the run.

Yeah, that's why I try not to let other's spelling, and grammar, mishaps bother me too much.

I know my turn is coming.

Doesn't bother me either, just goofing around. With auto correct and me always typing in a hurry and not proofreading much I misspell stuff all the time!

So back to the no sole issue, could this be the reason for all the injuries?

    • @Zoltan and The Bucs are on the clock with an hour to go.
    • As a Colt fan I hope Rivers balls out. But I have to be honest, I am skeptical about Rivers. I wanted younger, not older.  Personally I wanted Bridgewater and like his contract much more than what Rivers signed for.
    • I think your point on Fountain here is pretty important to understanding Ballard's off-season strategy at WR.     Initially, I hoped we'd sign a free agent and use a second round pick (preferably 34)...and now it looks like we'll only address WR thru the draft.   Hilton is still young enough to expect a return to form this year.  Campbell, despite the low reps, is expected to emerge and you have to leave space for that opportunity or he won't grow.  Pascal caught 41 balls for 600+ yards....from Brissett.  It's almost a certainty we'll draft a receiver in the 2nd round.  Four roster spots are pretty much locked in.   Back to Fountain...having 2 years in the program, there is every reason to believe Ballard may prefer Fountain as the 5th receiver over an additional drafted rookie or journeyman vet UFA.  I can still see drafting a second WR this year, but am no longer shocked that we didn't re-sign Funchess or chase other UFA receivers.    Ballard isn't neglecting the position, he's staying the course on development so that the young talent is ready when Hilton departs, and the emergence of Pascal last year was as good or better than anything you could expect from signing a middle tier outside free agent to build a bridge to the rookies.
