2018 NFL Combine - Player Measurements

Recommended Posts

Here's the post for WRs:

^my favorite day 2 receiver

^another good one

^good traits, horrible hands.

^here's a man after @NewColtsFan 's heart :P

^Robertson is a player the Colts have expressed interest in before(at Shrine game)

^ Wims was flashing for Goergia whenever I watched. I might go back and look at his tape more critically to see if he is worth a late round pick.

Never in all my life have I seen a collection of wide receivers with such SMALL HANDS!!

Yuk!!       :yuk:

I'm not too familiar with what the averages in an usual class are. Most of those seem to be above 9". Is that a problem?

Here's a post for the TEs' measurements:

^Hurst is drawing some Kelce comparisons. I haven't watched him. I will need to take a deeper look at him.

^Really nice measurements by Goedert.

^Ian Thomas is getting second round buzz...

Ive never seen so many different sub-9 1/2 inch hands.

Scouts would prefer 9 1/2 and up with 10 and more being ideal.

9 to 91/2 is ok...

Sub-9 is problematic...   does the player have reputation for good hands or drops? It's case by case at that point...

But I can't recall ever seeing so many sub-9 1/2 inch hands...   it's eye opening to me..  :omg:

why the heck are they listing 2/8ths, 6/8ths etc instead of the proper measurements of 1/4 and 3/4?

It's just a convention they use for consistency sake IMO. Some people fill the numbers in 4 digits form(6003 = 6'0 and 3/8 "). It's more clean if they announce them in 8ths this way I guess.

All NFL measurements at the combine and Senior bowl are always done by the 8th of an inch.    Always.

If you see a measurement that that is not done by the 8th then that's likely another media outlet that doesn't understand that and has made the conversion.

Sometimes you'll see a players height listed like this...   5113.    He's 5 feet 11 and three-eigth inches.

It's to to make sure everyone is on the same page and speaking the same language.

Ok thanks for the reminder, and I am familiar with the policy...It was a light hearted joke with no political connotation whatsoever..Lets leave it at that and not make it anything else or derail a great thread...

Awesome, good to know.  I figured there had to be some reason.  Thanks!

I like they way you are thinking!!Been thinking exact same thing..I know we need defense and offensive line, but if board falls that way I'm taking it..That makes our offense very scary and sets it up for years..Then the next couple drafts can be defensively focused to truly build a MONSTER...

What are you talking about?  Anything over 9 is fine and anything over 9 4/8 is definitely ok.  Reggie Wayne had 9 inch hands.  For a little perspective.  If the ball is touching your hands you should catch it.

Prototypical Outside, big body receiver that Ballard saw when he went after Jeffrey last off-season. I haven’t seen his tape yet though.

He is a freakin gazelle...He needs some refinement on route running, sometimes he catches with body, and can put on some weight still...You can't coach that size and athletisicm though, he is a rare athlete with as high of a ceiling as there is..

From what I've read about him, he has the size and speed, but is really lacking from the technical side and lacks toughness (gets manhandled by physical press corners smaller than him and isn't too aggressive going and getting the ball).

Pretty much, Al Davis would've loved him.

The DE and OLBs are being measured. The one we are all waiting for:

Great measurement!!! Tall, long arms, good size hand, good/prototypical weight! This is what a top 3 pick should look like. Tape and physical profile checks out. Now lets see how he tests.

Some more:

^this is small. You cannot put him at DE at that weight. He's a specialist 3d down pass-rusher at this weight.

^very good measurements for  Dorance Armstrong.

^short arms, this might ding his stock

^Sweat is intriguing. I want to see how he tests.

Your slavish devotion to DEFENSE is admirable.......      Oh,  and the OL too....
