Thee is a rumor he has asked to be traded.

I know he doesn't want to leave SD but now has to with the move of the franchise...

He did just sign a new contract.....he is not a free agent.

But if he doesnt want to play in LA...and his coach just got let go.....

......I wonder what Houston or Denver (or the Jets) would give up for 'Old man Rivers'?

I cant either but I never thought Favre would play for Minnesota either. Strange things have happened.

Too bad the Vikes traded for Bradford. Rivers was the QB that I wanted the Vikes to trade for when Teddy went down. But Rivers is a southern guy; I don't think he would accept a trade to MN.

Rivers may be a good fit in Arizona.

Rivers would be a perfect fit in Minnesota with that Defense and a healthy Peterson!

I know but I never thought he would go there because of being in GB his whole career. (most of his career I should say)

Yea, but when you wanna play you go to whoever will have you. Loyalty goes out the window. Wade Boggs won the World Series for the Yankees.

I don't think Rivers is going anywhere. They will have their practices etc in orange county and I'm absolutely sure they planned for this contingency when they drew up his contract. However, for the sake of teams that have need and would be a good fit for him I will list below. Honestly the best teams that fit him I don't know how financially they get it done nor would SD trade within division but I'll throw it out there.

1. Arizona

2. Houston

3. Denver

---------------

these teams have needs but probably wouldn't be on his list

4. Jacksonville

5. New York Jets

6. Chicago

7. Cleveland

Honestly not a lot of places to send him that makes sense to him and the team....Arizona would be the likeliest imo....but I would say there is a 9 in 10 chance he stays. No trade will make the team better and there really isn't much of an opening that would likely make him any happier either.

I can't imagine the chargers would want to trade him inside the division.   The Broncos would have to give up alot more than other teams would is my guess

That's a good point......

I'd be shocked if they trade him to Denver....... SD is already last in a 4-team division

I think a trade is possible if they can get multiple draft choices

Houston (9-7) and Denver (9-7) also don't have very high draft choices to trade.

Jacksonville?

Rivers is 35 years old and its unlikely he'll be around when SD gets back to the top the AFC West..

.......and he'll be 37 when they get into their new stadium....(They'll play in the LA soccer stadium for 2 years)

If I'm Denver or Houston I'd offer two No.1 choices..

..but if I'm SD, I'd ask for 3

Any owner that allows his GM to trade 2 or 3 1st rounders for Rivers should sell his damn team cause he is a *.

The Texans HAVE to bring in a winner from day one if they bring someone in (and they will). Rivers makes the most sense above all other possibilities. Coach Obrien has had zero luck in QBs as ahs the history of the franchise and his job is in jeopardy. If Rivers leaves football without a SB ring or at least an appearance will be sad.

    • Hey Everyone,   So, I just caught wind of Goodson's apology letter after dropping that short pass from Minshew against the Texans last season. Here's my humorous take on the situation:   "Dear Fans, Coaches, Teammates, and Supporters,   I'm writing to apologize for buttering up that short pass in the most critical moment against the Texans. Look, I know I'm the backup running back, but hey, I'm usually good for catching those short throws - emphasis on 'usually'. My bad for turning a routine play into a blooper reel moment.   To my teammates, sorry for making you wonder if I was secretly playing for the other team. Next time, I'll practice catching more than just footballs thrown by the water boy.   To the coaches, maybe let's reconsider throwing short passes to guys who have hands that are more slippery than a greased pig at the county fair. Just a suggestion.   And to the fans, thanks for turning my drop into a meme. I promise to work on my catching skills so I can make highlights, not lowlights, next season.   Sincerely, Goodson (aka the running back who should stick to running)"   Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit, but you get the gist. Let's hope Goodson has been hitting those catching drills hard this offseason!
    • I remember looking for highlights of TJ after we drafted him.  I kept finding videos of him following OJ Howard into the endzone.  Not sure if Howard was his responsibility, but it didn't paint a promising picture.
    • Ballard,   So, yeah, about that whole "bust" thing—I guess the cat's out of the bag. Turns out, I'm more of a popcorn fart than a thunderclap. My bad.   When you drafted me, I thought I was gonna be the Colts' next big thing. You know, sacking quarterbacks, making highlight reels, maybe even getting my face on a cereal box someday. But instead, I've been about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.   I've watched the tapes, Coach. I've seen the memes. They're comparing my NFL career to a hangover—starts off with high hopes, and ends with regret and a lot of Gatorade. And honestly, I get it. I'm like that guest who shows up to a party uninvited and ends up eating all the chips.   So, here's my mea culpa. I apologize for not living up to the hype. For every missed tackle, every missed sack, and that one time I accidentally tackled our own quarterback in practice (sorry, Philip). I'm like the guy who brings a guitar to a party and insists on playing Wonderwall—I'm annoying and not nearly as good as I think I am.   But hey, I'm not giving up. I'm hitting the gym, studying film (mostly bloopers at this point), and practicing my touchdown dance for when pigs finally fly. I promise to work harder and maybe, just maybe, I'll redeem myself and earn my place in the Hall of Mediocrity.   Thanks for believing in me, and letting me live my dream for 4 years straight whilst simultaneously producing nothing for your team. I'll make you proud yet, even if it's just by being the team's MVP of Bust Central, and we aren't talking bronze heads.    Sincerely, Ben "The Bust" Banagous (Not sponsored by Gatorade yet, but a guy can dream)
    • if you scream MODS! in anything I write,  I might get in trouble. hahaha
    • MODS!  This should be enough to force you to bring back the laughing emoji option!   Funny stuff!
