No not nearly on those levels. Just lumping him in with the recent guys. I forgot Rivers in there too.

Oddly enough of all the 'new' elite qbs the only one I haven't seen is Eli.

A few of the things on my bucket list are to watch Peyton live one day and to catch a pass from Peyton. Living in Canada, I haven't even come close to acheiving any of those. And it doesn't look like I will....

It's funny to see those two items listed in close proximity. One involves buying a ticket. I'm not quite sure how you would expect the second to happen. :)

Don't give up yet (on the first one, anyway).

Sorry, but that would be one of the biggest mistakes Irsay could make. Investing 28 mil. on a guy that possibly wouldn't play again would handicap this team terribly and Irsay is smart enough to know that.

I'm not saying sign him if there is doubt he can play again, I'm talking about if he's getting better but not quite there yet in March.

Not trolling. Just wanted you to fully grasp what is happening.

It's been a long and heated rivalry. For it to end this way....

You are trolling, and for the last time, SB rings are team achievements and only a small measure of any one players greatness. Brady barely makes top ten, if that, outside of the number of rings. Cassel won 11 as the QB for that team and Bledsoe could just as easily be wearing the 3 rings Brady has now. BTW, did the Patriots ever give John Casey the ring he deserves for SB XXXVIII?

I was planning on buying a ticket and going to New England this year with one of my buddies to watch the Indy-Pats game, but it didn't work out...and it wouldn't have helped me knock out the bucket list anyway.

Thanks!

I never got to see Peyton play. I had two chances ever, growing up in Northeastern Pennsylvania doesn't give you the chance of seeing the Colts a lot. My first chance was in 2002 when he chewed the Eagles up. That plan fell through. Then last year in the playoffs my dad, my brother, and I were going to go see them play the Steelers, Jim Caldwell crushed that dream. Now I can only hope Peyton gets to play again so I can take the Megabus from Pitt to Indianapolis next year, and watch a game.

My thoughts on the situation is the lack of info on Peyton is just so the media doesn't get drawn away from the Super Bowl. After the SB we will hear lots of things.

I was at that game! Was expecting it to be a tough one until Manning threw a bomb to Harrison in the middle of the first half. Wasn't much of a contest after that. I was also at the wipeout in Philly in 99. I was with an Eagles fan who was so upset he insisted on leaving around the end of the third quarter. Of course by that point the offensive starters had already been pulled, so I didn't mind.

I'm glad that I went, but watching road games isn't much fun. I think that TV is probably better. I would love to be able to see them at home though. Whats the "Megabus". Driving all the way across PA from the northeast to Pittsburgh is brutal. If you can do that, why not just drive all the way? The second half of the trip would be a heck of a lot flatter, and you'd have he use of a car when you get there.

Well I moved to the Pittsburgh area so it won't be as bad. The Megabus is like Greyhound, but extremely cheap. I got a round trip from Pitt to DC for $5 once. I hope this works out in my favor. I want to see Peyton play in blue so bad.

I had a bad feeling last January as soon as the Jets game was over. It just felt "over" to me. And IMO it is over. A new era is on it's way and it could be pretty exciting. Times are changing.

My favorite memory live with Manning was the game in Foxboro in 2006. Colts at Pats. It sounds corny but as soon as I entered that stadium I just "felt" like it was the Colts year. I miss Marvin too looking back at that game, he is one sometimes I don't feel now looking back......gets enough praise.

October of 2002. And I only remember that because the DC area sniper was still shooting people, and there was a little tension in the DC/Maryland area at that time. I do remember Edge pulled a hammy in that game. I don't remember any injury to PM, or awkward hit, etc.

No, it happened in 2006, I think, and they played Redskins in Indy. It was when Peyton was tackled by 2 defenders and doubled over in a terrible position. Someone had him around the neck, and he did not get up for a few minutes. It happened in the first half and he was in obvious pain. But in the second half he lit up the game with about 3 TDs. I think that was when the neck problem began.

Right - I was talking about the game I attended, which, as is stated later in the thread, is not the game where the neck injury started. Which makes me feel much less guilt as being some kind of bad luck.

Hard to see it end for Peyton the way it is instead of the way it happened for Elway.

It might not be over for Peyton. If healthy, someone will sign him. I read some blog speculating that Arizona and Seattle are possible landing spots. The reason given was Peyton is comfortable in a small media market, like Indy. The same blogger said that "experts" claim that Peyton waited too long to get the neck surgery, which led to more nerve deterioration.

The reason a lot of us here are high on Luck is because if you watch his videos, you will find exactly what we had under center for the past decade for the Colts. Luck is literally the Peyton Manning of college. He will call audibles, change the plays, reads defenses, plays in a pro style offense. He just looks SO much like Manning its scary. He has the same type of attitude, hes a modest guy, doesn't have character issues. On top of that he is a better prospect coming out of college right now than Manning was in 1998. I have no idea why some are still not willing to embrace Luck. He is a fantastic quarterback

I am ready, just not yet, not yet.

Until Manning says otherwise, I truly believe he's got a couple more Super Bowls in him. If it comes to pass with another team, it's possible he goes into the HOF in another uniform. Kind of a distant resemblance to Marshall Faulk.

Wow, couldnt even fathom that one!
