I think our ceiling is 11-5, worse we will go is 8-8 if Andrew gets injured and our Defense is below Average. I will stick with 10-6. We went 11-5 3 times so I never count that out.

This makes sense to me. I predicted 9 - 7 right after the draft. But the big variable is the effectiveness of our "new" coaching staff. We could go 11-5, but then there is still the "old" coaching staff ... We'll see.

Here are my thoughts on why we will be improved on both sides of the ball.

Everything starts with the offensive line, and last years line brutalized four different QB's. I think we will see a huge difference on the line with Kelly anchoring the center, which was by far the weakest link. This will allow us to sustain drives and limit the three and outs but more on that in a minute. Luck will actually have time to go through reads and limit turnovers, and Gore will actually see daylight and have running lanes. Our WR's are fast, but speed needs time to allow the play to progress and get open. The improved line will give the receivers time to blow past the back-end of the defense. Our over and under routes will be much more efficient with our QB having time and not always throwing on the run. So yeah the offense will be greatly improved because of a shored up offensive line.

Now the defense.

Toller is gone...Thank God! Addition by subtraction at its finest and I love the Robinson signing. Geathers will hold his own in Lowery's loss but he still has a learning curve ahead of him.The success of the secondary is greatly tied to the success of the pass rush which is by far the biggest question mark on this team. We will probably see another year of a scheme manufactured pass rush unless someone comes out of nowhere to be the pass rush specialist we desperately need. The dline is the best we have had in years, and IF Anderson and Jones are back healthy, this group is going to be very very deep. The biggest addition to the defense is.............................................................................our offensive line. That's right, the offense line will change this defense. Last year the offense couldn't stay on the field and they consistently exhausted our defense. Just by sustaining drives and running the ball will be huge for the defense to stay fresh throughout the game. The defense wasn't bad last year, they were tired. If the offense holds the ball more this year then defense will better because of it.

So overall I think we still have some question marks, but I see the arrow pointing up and may surprise a lot of people.
