Have you seen the Tape on Hassan Ridgeway?!?

With all the pressure coming from up the middle with our stacked D-Line, maybe that will help our pass rushers since they won't be getting double teamed as much since the opposing O-line will be concentrating on the middle so much.

Here's hoping at least.

I hope...but honestly it comes down to winning one on one matchups up front. In the past we haven't won those except maybe when Mathis and Freeney were in their prime. Hopefully this DL will help our pass rush out as you suggest but it will still be up to them to win their matchups and I'm afraid that isn't likely to happen much like it did in the past. I'm just hoping we push the qb off their spots..give them a hard time throwing and cause them to be inaccurate or rush their throws.

For a 4th round pick,  Ridgeway shows far more explosiveness, quickness, power and athleticism than I was expecting....

This guy is going to move the pocket.    QB's will not be comfortable with him in their face.     I'm not sure why he fells as far as he did --- other than the fact that the DT class was historically good --- but he's got some serious game to him.

The tape is just 1:23,  but I think you'll see plenty to like....      scroll down to the bottom of the story....

Enjoy!!

Not exactly a lot of career highlights,,,, so the rest of the time he got blocked?

No one is offering these highlights as his "career" highlights.      That's just some of them.    And if you look within this thread,  other posters offered up other clips with more highlights.....

Not trying to be a naysayer, but when did Indy get this great interior pass rush? Ridgeway is still unproven in the NFL, and Langford and Anderson are more known for their run stopping.

Anderson and Langford were excellent at causing havoc up the middle. Stopping the run, and causing pressure up the middle. Kerr wasn't too bad either.

I may be a homer (ok probably) but I think our D-line is one of biggest strengths.

I'm inclined to agree with you provisionally.. a lot will depend on how Anderson and Jones are coming off injury. Parry while not spectacular last year was steady and if he continues to develop will at least be a good depth player, Ridgeway looks a decent prospect but will probably only see limited snaps. Langford for me was a very underrated FA move by Grigson.

Factor in Kerr and even Okine (depending on the package) and we've got a solid group, though we lack any stand out blue chip players. I'll be interested to see how a new D-Coordinator changes things up, I'll confess I don't know much about his scheme preferences so I'm not sure if we're going to continue with a 1 Gap or 2 Gap scheme.

Late 1st- Early 2nd round talent who we got in the 4th in my opinion. Could be a steal. If you look at him again at the combine you can see he doesn't have much of a gut on him at all. Hips are a little tight when trying to make a tackle in the open field sometimes which might limit his ability to make plays somewhat 1 on 1 but he should be able to create plenty of pressure if in shape and healthy

Our new strength and conditioning coach will take care of that.

I was a huge fan of colts getting him in the 4th.  Kids a beast.  His only issue was conditioning, and our new conditioning staff should whip that out of him.

He's an athletic guy whom can get penetration,...and is strong as an ox.

Like i said in other post's..i seriously think not getting an olb pass rush specialist isn't going to be as much of an issue as people think.  We still have Mathis, but think on this...our top 5 d-linemen can penetrate ...Langford, Anderson, Jones, Parry, and now Ridgeway. Most of our pass rush will probably come from them, because we have 5 people to rotate and keep fresh.

Yeah and don't forget about the potential of Kurt Maggett.

Funny, I have to agree with you a bit here.  I've been scouring the internet because I was very excited about this guy.  But truth is I just can't find a lot of highlights on him.

Again, for a fourth round pick, I'm happy with the guy.  But honestly, I was a little disappointed watching those highlights.  It seemed to me that the majority of them were just poor play on the Oline.  One had the guard tripping over the center's right foot (that one is in all of his highlight tapes).  A couple were missed assignments where nobody touched him.  Some were coverage sacks.  He did have some great looking plays as well.  Not a big deal I'm sure, but normally on these highlight tapes, there are a lot more examples it seems to me.

Funny,   but if you had simply scrolled won ONE POST to my response you would've noticed that he's NOT right.

These weren't presented as "career highlights".....      just some highlights.     That's all.

And that there were TWO other tapes that other posters have found of more highlights of Ridgeway.

If you looked and didn't find.......   sorry....          But they're in this thread!

There's plenty of highlights of Hassan Ridgeway.....
