Season Record Predictions

Narcosys

Recommended Posts

So for the past two years around this time i come up with the season record predictions.  Every year people tell me its too soon, its not even training camp, we dont know the roster etc.  But that is the whole point.  I go through every week and evaluate the games to come up with the final records.

Two years ago my biggest prediction the Chiefs go 12-4 and split with the Broncos.  I was told there is no way that KC will do that well, Alex Smith is a bad qb, they will never make the playoffs.  Lo and behold they went 11-5 cause they got swept by Denver.

Last year by biggest prediction was that the Cowboys would go 10-6 and win their division.  People said no way, to many injuries and suspensions, their D will never do anything, they will be at the bottom of the division.  Well, they went 12-4.

So here is this years predictions.  Please post your own predictions and try to break down each week.

AFC East

BUF:  11-5 (-2)

MIA:   7-9  (+1)

NE:    12-4 (-1)

NYJ:  3-13 (+2)

AFC North

BAL:  11-5 (-1)

CIN:  7-9

CLE: 4-12 (+2)

PIT:  12-4 (-2)

AFC South

HOU:  5-11 (+1)

IND:  11-5

JAX:  2-14 (+2)

TEN:  4-12 (+1)

AFC West

DEN:  13-3 (-2)

KC:    6-10 (+1)

SD:   10-6 (-2)

OAK:  3-13 (+2)

NFC East

DAL:  11-5 (-1)

NYG:  9-7

PHI:  6-10 (+1)

WAS:  2-14 (+2)

NFC North

CHI: 6-10

DET: 11-5 (-2)

GB:  14-2 (-2)

MIN:  8-8

NFC South

ATL:  8-8 (+1)

CAR:  10-6

NO:  11-5 (-2)

TB:  3-13 (+2)

NFC West

ARI:  10-6 (-1)

SF: 6-10 (+1)

SEA:  13-3 (-1)

STL:  7-9

The +/- means that I can see that team either winning or losing that number of games.  But the record is what i see them getting min or max.  Seattle for example, no more than 13-3, no less than 12-4.

So let me know where I am crazy and post your own predictions.

In this scenario the Jets get worse? Hmm.. Can't really see that happening

If they don't have better QB play I don't see how they'll be any better.  They have one of the best and most talented rosters in the league, but no QB.

NE going 8-8?  How do you swing that one, who do they lose to with that easy schedule?

Where have they improved anymore than the others in their division?  Miami has gotten better, bills have gotten better, and NE is NE.  They may not have gotten worse, but they wont performas well in their own division.  Plus their schedule isnt the easiest.

You see the panthers getting worse, or just everyone else getting better?

I have the broncos and packers as my superbowl, but the colts are my second choice along with dallas.

I actually think the top half ( playoff teams ) in the NFC will be better than the AFC... Like GB and Seattle are 1 and 2 IMO!

AFC North

Pittsburgh and Baltimore; one or the other will make a bid for the representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. Cincinnati seems to always win 10 games for some reason too.

Pittsburgh 12-4

Baltimore 11-5

Cincinnati 10-6

Cleveland 5-11

AFC East

Patriots will do fine, but I expect a little competition from someone else later down the stretch.

New England 11-5

Buffalo 10-6

Miami - 8-8

NY Jets 3-13

AFC West

Same old same old. Mediocrity lives while one team dominates from it.

Denver 12-4

Kansas City 9-7

San Diego 9-7

Oakland 6-10

AFC South

Weakest division in football. Same old same old. Colts dominate as usual with no competition, same narrative different year.

Indianapolis 13-3

Houston 6-10

Jacksonville 4-12

Tennessee 3-13

NFC North

Same old same old again, but no Lions in the mix.

Green Bay - 13-3

Minnesota 10-6

Detroit 8-8

Chicago 7-9

NFC East

Dallas was a dark horse of the NFC last year, would not be surprised if they win the East again

Dallas 12-4

Philadelphia 10-6

NY Giants 7-9

Washington 2-14

NFC West

Seattle dominance as usual, but with a divisional foe out of St Louis or Arizona.

Seattle 11-5

St Louis 9-7

Arizona 9-7

San Francisco 3-13

NFC South

Falcons dominate the easiest schedule in the league and Carolina gives them a run, Saints are a mystery team

Atlanta 13-3

Carolina 10-6

New Orleans 7-9

Tampa Bay 6-10

I like it, I like your explanations. Darn near identical but I don't see artifacts Atlanta doing that well. Even with that schedule.

Thank you, I have fear over Atlanta. They have the easiest ranked schedule of the NFC and in 2012 and 2010 they had very weak schedules both those years and managed 13-3 records.

I would love for the Saints to have another winning season, but I am giving them my doubts in hopes they surprise me. I don't want to be high up and predicting a big winning season like everyone in the bayou did last year.

Obviously alot depends on some really screwy things that are going to happen in our lifetime if not this year (Peyton and Tom will run out of gas) and some other things that *could* happen towards 1 extreme or the other (Seahawks will be back with a vengance or useless after The Call, same for the Pats even if Tom is game, etc).

The Giants and whoever wins the NFC West have always been spoilers. Whether it's the Cardinals or not, they'll upset either the Packers or the Falcons after their easy schedules. That leaves the Giants. If I'm wrong about them making the playoffs then that's that but if they do they'll be thinking SB.

Also fwiw I hope I'm wrong about some of these, especially in the AFC.

I mean obviously it's all based on ifs...but if Atlanta is coached right then 14-2 is doable even if it's slightly fraudulent come playoff time. And Dallas doesn't stand a chance if the Giants are back.
