Need Based First Round Mock - Colts On The Clock at #29.

Recommended Posts

If teams pick based on need over BPA, then this is a reasonable mock I created. Obviously we can expect to see a few trades, especially due to Mariota and the RB's.

I like Ereck Flowers, but if he is not there then I would not be opposed to us trading back a few picks and grabbing Shaq Thompson.

Eric Kendricks is a guy i'm liking more and more at pick 29 i think he'd be a great long tern option at ILB and the more i research his tape the more he jumps out at you he's an impressive athlete who can cover and play against the run which is a versatility more of our linebackers need although i feel like Freeman was good against the run his pass protection was impressive but always room for improvement.

also Kevin Johnson, Carl Davis, Jordan Phillips are others i like on that list

Nice.. did you watch much of the Clem/FSU game to see how well he did against Cam Irving?

I was actually watching Stephone Anthony vs FSU when I noticed Jarrett (I hadn't watched him before) and checked him out after they kept calling his name in that game. He had a p good game. I didn't go through it in depth like I did his other games though. More of a casual viewing.

If the board were to break that way, then it feels like the best value is in one of the remaining OT's (particularly Clemmings) or at WR in Jaelen Strong.  It wouldn't be popular initially, but Strong at 29 would be a steal and reminds me of when we picked Reggie Wayne.  Nobody was looking for a WR in the first in 2001, but that worked out OK.

I can see Niners selecting a LB with the loss of Willis and Borland, making armstead available, or Goldman if the bengals were to pick armstead over Goldman.

Possible. I see them having so many needs that they will likely take BPA in one of those needs.

When I did the mock, the BPA to what the 49ers needs are was Armstead. If Armstead is off the board then it could change some things.

I can actually see the 49ers as a very willing team to trade down so they can get more draft picks. They just have so many needs that moving back for them makes a lot of sense. We could see a RB go here after the 49ers trade out.
