Colts need Danny Shelton

To me, this guy would instantly change the toughness of this defense in the front 7. He has been compared to Vince Wilfork and would be a great pairing with Arthur Jones on the DL freeing up our LBers. Chapman isn't the future for us at NT, and a great NT will make this defense go.

I like Shelton, but I had rather sign a NT in FA then draft a FS or ILB. I think that would be cheaper too.

Agree, we need him, but we won't be able to draft him. He'll likely be a top 15 pick and we can't afford to mortgage future picks to move up to get him.

Shelton will be long gone by pick 29. It wouldn't even surprise me if he went in the top 10.

I kind of see him as being a bit like Dontari Poe draft wise. Will be drafted higher than he probably should be.

Shelton is the only difference maker I see at NT this year in the draft. I would rather sign someone in free agency if we can't get Shelton. Other prospects I like for the DL include DE Michael Bennett, Arik Armstead, Carl Davis, and Henry Anderson.

Jordan Phillips is likely to fall to our pick and I would rather have him then Eddie Goldmann from FSU because of the unsuccessful pick we had in Werner. I still think Werner is progressing, but we need impact players straight out of the draft.

I don't know about you guys but Nicks or Wayne could not separate whatsoever and Brazill and Rodgers are gone.

Sammie Coates would be redundant. We need a guy who can get open underneath and catch in traffic. Strong could be that guy.

To me, Strong seems like a bigger and faster version of Jarvis Landry, ala Anquan Boldin. Or probably like Hakeem Nicks when he was coming out of the draft???

Agreed. No more reaches. We need a physical freak at NT or on the D-Line.

 

e.g. someone that is 330+ lbs, runs a sub 5.0 40, bench 36+ reps, etc...

 

For reference, Montori Hughes had a very mediocre 22 reps of 225 on the bench.

We may need Danny Shelton,  but unfortunately,  we're not going to get Danny Shelton.    He'll be long, long gone by the time we pick.    He may not get past the top-12....
