i dont see how this helps your case

"Revis and Browner weren’t perfect Sunday, but they certainly earned their contracts — and hype — by limiting Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and Julius Thomas. Browner lined up at both cornerback, covering either Demaryius Thomas or Sanders, and in a hybrid safety/linebacker/slot role, where he took on Julius Thomas.

demaryius thomas (covered by browner) 127 yards

sanders (also covered by browner) 151 yards

Julius Thomas (covered sometimes by Browner) 33 yards and 1 td (2 receptions/ 2 targets)

i would say you have a very loose understanding of the term "shut down" if I had access to pff and could look at revis's completion percentage allowed or similar stat, i would wager that at least 50 percent of all those yards and the td were given up by browner

You forget he outplayed Brady in 2011 also. He put the ball right in Evan's hands also on that play.

Sure so why does Harbaugh need to pump his tires for this game? Seems liked a ridiculous comment to make to me. Perhaps he wanted to continue to justify Joe's pay to Ravens fans ...

I think it's funny how you can replace the name Flacco with Brady in this argument.  Welcome to the Colts fan side of the Manning vs Brady debate and am glad a Pats fan finally agrees.

It does not apply post 2006 when Brady has carried horrible defenses deep into the playoffs and into the Super Bowl ...

How did last year go IN Baltimore when the Ravens were still alive for a playoff berth? That was basically a playoff game and Brady significantly outplayed Joe in his house with no Gronk ...

It is a funny argument coming from the NE side vis a vis the Manning vs. Brady deal. From my perspective, I like Joe. I'm not saying he's the best of all time, but as a Baltimore fan, I'm darn glad I have him, because he wins, and as a fan, that is what counts. I remember the Stoney Case/ Scott Mitchell years, and I am very satisfied to have Joe. The guy has the most road wins in NFL history, and that is saying something. It's not all the defense, you have to put points on the board on the road. Is he the best QB in history, no, but he's the best QB for Baltimore .

To the bolded - no one disagrees with that but that is not what your coach said hence the debate.

He has the right to his opinion, as do you and the others. I am a bit more realistic, but I'm also not a coach trying to get my QB ready for another huge road game. I like the strategy.

One other thing, John also called Suggs interception the greatest catch in NFL history. Put it in perspective , John was pretty giddy getting Baltimore's first ever playoff win against Pittsburgh . It was also a great road win. If you know John, he is a fun loving coach who loves his players. Watch the actual press conference and it will put it more in perspective.

So John has a tendency to label everything Baltimore the greatest despite the fact that they are clearly not?  Strange but I guess he wins.

Sometimes , he gets pretty excitable like a HS coach. The guy is one heck of a coach and a motivator. Look what he got this team through with Rice, then Ngata. He knows how to fire his team up for big games, and I like how he does it.

Thanks for helping my case.

Browner didn't cover both Thomas' and Sanders at the same time.  Some times Revis was on one of them, some times Kyle Arrington was covering one of them and some times Logan Ryan.

You claimed Browner "sucks" and is no good.  Yet he was able to pretty much contain and do a better job at covering Thomas than most other corners have been able to.

And this game was also earlier on in the season when the Broncos were still on fire as the best offensive team.

Thomas had 2 receptions on 2 targets one for a td. The other 2 people the article said he covered at times had well over 100 yards receiving. I really think you picked a bad example to argue your point but we can agree to disagree.

Browners stats for the game:

6-10 for 105 yards.

Joe's not going to have a good game on Saturday. The Ravens are going to get crushed. The Ravens good fast and over pursuing linebackers are just what the doctor ordered for Brady's quick hitting play action attack. I see the Colts handling the Broncos as well and  fully expect to see them in Foxboro the following week.

Flacco's had some great performances in the playoffs, no doubt. IMO the "best in the game" label just requires a little more consistency than he's shown.

Let's not forget, the Ravens just about blew it in week 16 and only made the playoffs because the Chargers choked. And Flacco was pretty terrible in 2013, with the defending champs missing the playoffs overall. It looks like they've gotten hot at the right time but we'll see if that continues on Saturday.

I hear ya, they certainly looked like they had the mojo rolling the other night. It's just kind of funny, in a matter of two weeks they've gone from being just outside the bubble to a team that a lot of NE fans don't want to see come to Foxboro. I respect them, but... bring it on! If the Patriots can't beat Baltimore at home in January, then they don't deserve it.

I'm not making any bombastic predictions about this game. We are 7 point dogs for a reason. I'm just glad we are alive, and am looking forward to the game. After all that has happened this year, the Ravens are playing with house money.

Right now I'd take Flacco over every other QB in the playoffs.

He's playing at a top level, a lot better than the other guys are at the moment.

As much as we make fun of him over the years, he does deserve credit. He beat the touted Pittsburgh Steelers when I said the Steelers would have problems and people thought I was nuts. So glad that overrated team is out of it.

Pats need to be worried about this one. The Ravens are not a cupcake that is going to roll over and let them beat on them. As much as the Pats struggled offensively in certain games, I'd be worried. Brady is due for another game where he looks god awful and the fans start screaming for Jimmy G.

Is every team that loses overrated in your opinion? Many people picked the Ravens to beat the Steelers but not because of Flacco but because they were missing their best offensive weapon in Bell.

    • The Colts handed Taylor a boat load of money which is unheard for a running back in today’s NFL.  You don’t do that and take him off the field in crucial situations for Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson.  Shane has done just that in two of the last three games he’s coached.  Not playing maybe your best offensive weapon for a whole fourth quarter is criminal.  Shane is trying to be too cute and over thinking things trying to fool other teams and it’s not working in the slightest.  Play your best players at the most critical points of games.  That’s why you paid them.
    • People come up with the strangest over reactions ever when the Colts lose.
    • I agree 100 Ballard time is up , him and Bradley. You can preach accountability and retain Bradley another year….Ballard loves to say guys just need to hit the layup… he should take his own advice we all knew we needed help in the secondary this year no moves, we all knew we needed help last year at corner , oline year before. I talking about obvious weaknesses media calls him out on it year after year and he plays it off like he smarter than everyone then admit mistakes at the end of year and does the same thing. Bradley doesn’t make any adjustment like he runs what he runs and that it
    • To be honest this is malpractice by Ballard ….. like I know they think us fans are stupid but some of us played sports , coached sports , watched sports etc… we know what we are seeing like everyone knew we needed depth in the second. But Ballard doesn’t bring vets in and makes guys compete for a job he hands them to players he thinks are nice people a deserve a shot. Ala Pinter, NFL is a league where you get what you earn ,you eat what you kill , not what you deserve. Ballard need to take a hard look at him self at look at how other teams that win are built. We need speed at the corner position and a scheme shift. Like no HC under Ballard has been able to pick they DC he normally has one before they get hired and they retain Ballard guy
