Kind of surprising since a lot of fans on here was talking about what an awful coach Caldwell was.  :D

He very well could have learned from his time in Indy.  Pete Carroll was very unspectacular during his time in the NFL before coming to Seattle.  He is also on a team with one of the best defenses in the league and the best WR in the league when he's healthy.

If Carson is done...if might distort the value of the matchups

You might want to play the Cardinals in the first round

That is assuming they still win the division with 4 divisional matchups to go. I can see them crashing and burning and going 11-5 and finishing 2nd in their division to someone like the Seahawks who may make it to 12-4 given that they got a whole bunch of OL and defensive players back and healthy.

If the Cardinals drop out of 1st it will have more to do with a surge by the Seahawks and/or the 49ers Than the Palmer injury

True. I do think they can sneak a win or two with the element of Stanton surprise, IMO though unlikely. But the 49ers seem to have re-discovered their run game, and the Seahawks are running well and down the stretch, can wear that Cardinals' D down in their divisional matchup.

I think the Seahawks and 49ers have a too big of hole to climb out of

Yes, Very true. But consider this... what did Norv Turner do as a HC to an exceptionally potent San Diego Chargers team over a few years??  Caldwell can at least be the good 'Game Manager' of HC's...

Too bad about Palmer.  Does anybody know if it is the same knee he suffered an ACL/MCL in the 2005 playoffs?

Man, $50 mil extension came 1 week too early for the cardinals but right on time for Palmer :P

Of the $50 Mill,  only $20 is guaranteed.     But yes,  it came one week too soon.

He still is

You really should get over the fact the Colts lost the Super Bowl he coached.     Seriously.

All Jim Caldwell has done is be a terrific coach since he left Indy.....

And now he's doing a terrific job in Detroit,  whether you want to accept it or not.......

Caldwell is doing very nice but it doesn't hurt having the personnel he has

Ain't got nothing to do with that, Chet.

He's NOT a good coach.
