fleener's against his body catch

Dear god...

You know, when I read certain posts I know you are going to respond and respond this way.  And even though the Christian side of me doesn't like this phrase, I can't help but chuckle every time I read it.  You seem to do it on just the right post and it says everything that us mere mortals try to say by arguing with some of these posters.

Thank you and keep up the good work.

If you want to get on him for his consistency, fine.  That's a valid argument.  Calling him soft is not.  I mean, Reggie and Marvin Harrison went to the ground instead of fighting for yards for years and TY is following in their footsteps in that regard, and I don't see anyone calling them soft.  Fleener goes up and fights for the football like anyone else does.  I don't see him ducking before the ball gets there to avoid collision.  He fights for yards when the situation requires.

Can't speak for everyone but

http://forums.colts.com/topic/31965-week-7-previewseason-review-thus-far-tknight24-edition/

There's my crow eating on select people.

I have no problem eating my crow, but Fleener has yet to force me to. He is soft.

It's like the "inconsistent" label Vontae had on this forum.... Remember?

Labels don't stick if you prove them wrong. Fleener has yet to do that with his "soft" label.

When that time comes, the forum can personally feed me my crow with a side of apple juice

TK, you do it crow, so good on you.  :)  But I do think that once a player is seen a certain way by fans (me included), that perception is harder to shake and we do tend to judge them more harshly or give them more of a break.

I don't know about re-signed but he's not going to be cut, that's silly.

Even if we wanted to get rid of him, he'd have trade value, cutting him would be beyond stupid.

Edit: I don't see where he claimed that Fleener would be cut.  Just not extended.

I think he'll be resigned as long as he doesn't ask for Graham type money.  He is way too valuable.  Who knows how many catches the other receivers are making because Fleener has to be accounted for (and vice versa).  This "group" should be kept together as long as possible.  Speculation for fun though?  Certainly if I had to keep one or the other, I'd pick Allen.

May be true for some

But everyone here shook the "inconsistent" label off of Vontae this year. A label can be taken away/forgotten, but the player has to put in the work

Fleener just isn't showing it. Tough catch here and there but still very timid.

He needs to just play freely, he's thinking too much.

One good catch means nothing. You cannot say "I told you so" because of one play. He either performs consistently or he sits on the bench while Allen scores touchdowns. The fact he is friends with Luck won't save him much longer.

His biggest problem has BEEN LUCK! Andrew sure as heck hasn`t done Fleener ANY Favors.

Andrew has finally, started getting the ball out quicker, and FINALLY started throwing Many more balls to the correct shoulder, and Finally been throwing Many more balls at the numbers rather than Too High.

Still lots of bad throws and missed open receivers in the short game, but Andrew has turned the corner. Pep has had to de-program the cra* from year one.

Man... I will gladly say before this season I was not a Fleener fan.  In fact I flat out retorted that his play was unacceptable.  Anyone saying that now, must watch the games.  He is anything but not physical.  His blocking has improved close to 3 times over, his catching ability has gone up and his movement in traffic is much better than previous.  He could easily be seen as one of the most improved players on the offense as he has become more than just a WR in a TE's body.  We've got a special group of TE in Indy!

    • No, and this is not news.  For a while, folks have been leaning on the Buckner trade as being a great (use of) pick.  But Buck was known as a very good NFL player already, which is not the same thing as using picks on college players you think should be good.  The college evaluation/valuation process has not been good.  That's pretty evident, IMO.
    • Easiest way to fix the Colts defense is to fire Gus Bradley. First it was Michael Lombardi (who I generally don't agree with) who said that Gus defense is simple and now even JJ Watt has said that he runs a defense that doesn't make adjustments for the opponent and defensives that that don't do that generally fail in the NFL. It's interesting to see two weeks in and more and more people are coming out and saying that " Bradley's system is ineffective."   It won't help us much this year but I do believe that Bradley's system is holding back the talent on the defense and him having favorites puts blinders on improving positions (Facyson).
    • When  it is his draft year, he will most likely be the number 1 pick if he continues to excel. There is not doubt in my mind that if the team that is picking is a complete dumpster fire. The Mannings will pull another Eli. They will have a lot of control and the team that is drafting him will have to give into the Manning's recommendations. Thats the way it should be. I always said Bryce Young would be a bust due to his body makeup. That being said, he is getting no help in Carolina and it basically looks like his career is over after only 2 years. This will not happen to Manning. I bet if  Manning's draft year next  was in 2025 and Carolina had the pick.  The Mannings would probably have a list of demands before even entertaining the thought of Manning going there and that is the way it should be.
    • Hey all, been a while. Not sure what to expect on Sunday, Bears offensive line has been horrible. I don't see them being in sync anytime soon. I think it'll be a close game with Colts winning at home.
    • Denver is a huge market actually.  It covers the entire country west of KC, HOU, and DAL except the coast and provides many more opportunities for exposure than Indy.  I don't think Irsay cutting Peyton would have anything to do it.  I think Peyton teases that stuff sometimes just for a little attention.
