Interesting Dead Spin article about the Colts

Does the author, Drew Magary, roast all 32 NFL teams or are we just 1 of the lucky ones to experience this journalistic atrocity known as crude humor? Such profanity would not be tolerated in a high school newspaper's final edit before going to print or even placed on a website's server either.

"I'm not saying Andrew Luck is a monster, I'm just saying he lives in a castle in the clouds and will eat your children whole if they climb up a beanstalk and go wandering into his bubbling cauldron."

What is this nonsense? A children's nursery rhyme about dragons? Go sit in the discipline corner you fool. No milk & cookies for your inappropriate behavior. Is this publication like the Onion? Pure sarcasm & speculation for laughs?

"I've never seen a guy built like a brick house go down easier than a senior citizen with a prosthetic leg. Vodka Samm gave security more trouble being tackled."

Ironic really because that argument applies to RB Donald Brown IMO not Trent Richardson.

"Not only is Trent Richardson still here, but the Colts doubled down on him...letting Ahmad Bradshaw's one good ankle stick around for backup."

Hey genius & I use the term loosely, remember TR's 1st start for INDY when he completely steamrolled the illustrious 49ers defense? And I seem to recall that Bradshaw won a SB ring with the NY Giants too. So, by your logic we discard & throw away every injured NFL player then? Thank God you are no GM or strength & conditioning coach. Those who can't perform athletically write Drew.

This person just sucks at sarcasm. My nephew Matthew can come up with funnier jokes than this crap. It doesn't even work at an experiment in comedy unless you adore smoldering train wrecks for all the wrong reasons.

Any article that tries to poke fun at that image as being a sign of trouble ahead for the colts is obviously clawing at the walls to find relevance. I still have nightmares. Every time it rains, I fear a slobbering lumberjack in sports attire is coming to eat my children.

Is this hazing supposed to be a badge of honor? Because if that's the case, I feel like a fowl mouth sailor during fleet week who desperately needs to wash my mouth out with soap to purge myself of this awful stench. Disgusting & not funny at all.

The Onion is funny while the only thing Dead Spin is good for is lining the bottom of a bird cage, starting a campfire in a pit, or substitute toilet paper when a person is stranded in the wilderness with no other options at their disposal. JMO.

You see, Ruksak could give lessons on the effective use of sarcasm. Dead Spin should hire you as a paid consultant. Who knows the editors there might actually learn something valuable & their readership would proliferate dramatically.

Wow , don't blame me , I didn't write it. ! Lol

Other than rusak's Andrew lumberjack comment above, this is the only thing that made me chuckle during this whole thread. Well played TOC!

Okay, SW1 will shut up now & let someone else talk for awhile. "There was much rejoicing." --Monty Python's "The Holy Grail" reference.  I thought it was funny anyway.

As an aside, I always preferred Buddy's Carpets commercials to Tom Raper's. Those of you who grew up in Indy surely know what I'm referring to. And Don's Guns commercials were better than all of them. lol Soft spot in my heart for Stanley Kahn commercials @ 3 am as well. lol

YES!  Don's guns commercials were great LOL

And I don't remember Buddy's carpets but I sure remember Empire Carpets :D

    • In one of the interviews I listened to with Scott and a Tenn Titans reporter a few months back he was asked what's one of the things that separates you? He said probably what is between my ears. High football IQ, understanding of the game and instincts.
    • Agree with you on the draft takes.   For AR's season, I think mediocrity is what we should hope for( compared to other QBs). We should not forget, that this is basically his rookie season and he's still only 22. So if that would get us to 10-7.....HOORAY !
    • Less than 2 months away when the greatest crushes this Jake Paul guy. Tyson in 3. Tyson is getting in great shape, he looks fast and strong as of now.    When I list boxers where they rank all-time, I go by peak. You have to when it comes to boxing because most fighters Don't last long. Mike Tyson from 1985-1995 only lost once in 10 years. His record in that time frame was 43-1 37 KO's. Buster Douglas KO'd him in the 10th round in a fight where Mike didn't even train for and Mike actually KO'd him in the 8th, Douglas got a 13 count.    Notable wins in that 10 year frame.   Berbick Holmes but he was old, still it was Holmes. Tucker  Spinks Bruno Ruddock (twice)
    • I'm excited about our future. I think Ballard put together 2 very nice drafts in a row. Never thought we would get Latu, thought we had a better chance at Bowers. Still holding out hope for Cross, he flashes greatness than dissappears, hope he's consistent. Hope Woods takes lead in TE room. I keep writing off Granson, but he keeps impressing. Even if Richardson has a mediocre season I think the team around him could get us to 10-7.
    • I think you understood his words in a "positive" way, but that's not what he said.   He DID NOT say that "most of you would choose to get married..."   That's your implication. Of course, only women can bring children in this world and most of the women will choose to be married and have children, but that's not exactly what he said.   He said, "doing so - while some others will go on to lead successful career in the world - will take you closer to God's Will"    Here's what he said from the transcript:    He could've said, "even if you go on to have a very successful career, and get the greatest accolades of the world, I think the most important title of a woman is :  Homemaker. And, that would take you closer to God's Will"    But, he didn't say so because he wanted to say exactly what he believes women should do and brought God into that by saying that's His Will.    I think he made a mistake of implying that women are generally excited about marriage and having kids and being a homemaker, when that's only part of a woman's life - even though that could be the most cherished and blessed part of the life.   He only looked at how that made his wife's life - his words, not his wife's words by the way - and projected that to all the women.
