My Realistic Offseason

Recommended Posts

Here's a pretty realistic mock and free agency in my opinion...

Round 3 Pick 3 (WASH): Jarvis Landry, WR, LSU (A-)
Round 3 Pick 25: DaQuan Jones, DT, Penn State (A)
Round 4 Pick 3 (WASH): Dee Ford, OLB, Auburn (A)
Round 5 Pick 3 (WASH): Terrence Brooks, FS, Florida State (A)
Round 5 Pick 25: Brandon Thomas, OG, Clemson (A-)
Round 6 Pick 25: Rashad Greene, WR, Florida State (A)
Round 7 Pick 18: Bennett Jackson, CB, Notre Dame (A)

Free Agency

(OL) I would have us signing OG Jon Asamoah with the expectation that Alex Mack is franchised. So we either start McGlynn or Holmes at C next season. We cut loose Satelle. (Sign OG Jon Asamoah, 5 years/27 mil) We also sign a OT for depth (Sign OT Ryan Harris, 2 years/7 mil)

(WR) Even after bringing in Jarvis Landry and Rashad Greene, we still need one more WR that has produced. (Sign WR Emmanuel Sanders, 4 years/26 mil) We now have a much improved WR core with Landry and Sanders on the outside, and Reggie and Hilton manning the slot and inside routes. Greene and Brazill are our 4th and 5th WRs.

(Secondary) We still need another good corner in case Toler gets injured, so we bring in a potential #2 CB. (Sign CB Tracy Porter, 3 years/10 mil) We let Bethea test free agency, and if he doesn't command a big payday, bring him back. If he does, we have insurance in both Delano Howell and Terrance Brooks.

(Pass rush) We still need improvement in this area, and this is where we are hoping Werner continues to develop, and Mathis can continue his dominance in this dept. Adding Dee Ford at LB gives Mathis an understudy and someone to share time with. But we still need pass rush from our DL. (Sign DE Antonio Smith, 2 years/8 mil) He will share time with Redding since they are both past 32 years of age.

This pretty much covers our main areas of need. At ILB we resign Angerer for a lesser deal, since he is a good LB when he has the protection of his DL. At RB, I don't see a team willing to pay Brown a big deal, so we bring him back for around 3 years/8 mil)

Biggest areas of visible improvement (WR and Pass rush)

You have too much value (pick 3 in rounds 3,4 and 5) for a 2nd rounder that will probably be around 2.22. Bad trade partner also as Washington has no 1st rounder , very unlikely they trade all their high round picks for our second.

Your WR scenario has us cutting Rogers (which is possible at this point in time) and carrying 6 (not 5 as you state) on next years roster.

Asamoah is the only one on that list I would grab.    I don't think the browns will franchise a center for 8-9 million a year.  So that leaves us the opportunity to grab Mack.  I'm not getting my hopes up though , Grigson failed to land the best available OL Vasquez and Levitre. He probably gave it effort though. With Vasquez playing with PM was a no-brainer easy sell.  Mack and Asamoah would completely solidify our line and the rest of the money could be spent on the Safety Byrd and resigning our own FA's.

What about Andre Roberts? He kinda fell off when Michael Floyd emerged.

That man never got on to begin with, But part of that is the Cardinals have not had a very good QB since Warner retired however (No Palmer is not a very good QB....More like a great backup to serviceable starter)
