I think the Colts are doing their due diligence, and also should be interested.

I think with how Barkley tested, he will go #1 to the Browns and the Giants will select Chubb at #2. That leaves us with Fitzpatrick at #3 or trade down to land Nelson and get an extra pick(s).

The Browns know we will not select a QB, so if they stay at #4, they will have their pick. I don't think the Giants will select at QB either. If we trade the #3 spot, the Browns may be interested in moving up to choose their guy. This way, the get Barkley and the QB of their choice.

I would be stoked with that. That would be advantageous for the colts to do, gives us not only extra(multiple picks*) as we can rob them of an extra one or two, but it would also allow us to turn around and do the same thing with the #4 draft pick gaining more draft stock and still getting Nelson for the line and then more pieces to this puzzle later in the draft. If we could do that and walk away 12+ picks this year then damn!!!

Oklahoma's Orlando Brown turned in maybe the worst combine performance in history. At 6'8" 345 lbs. he looked half dead.

His14 bench press reps with 225 lbs. may be the worst ever.

Brown’s 19.5-inch vertical jump would be the worst of any player ever drafted.

-His 82-inch broad jump would be the worst of any player ever drafted.

-His 5.85 40-yard dash would be the second-worst of any player ever drafted (the other was a seventh-rounder in 2001), and the fifth-slowest of all players since 2003.

If he gets drafted it will be a miracle.

If he does not get drafted and he sits and watches games this coming season and the salaries rookies are making are mentioned during those games you have to believe he is crying out of all orifices.

He will still get drafted for sure.  His pro day will be HUGE for him.  He needs to show improvement on everything.  Many GM's will still see the tape and grab him in the 2nd or 3rd if he were to drop that far.  I could bet he still goes within the first 2 rounds.

Colts showing interest in Princeton QB Chad Kanoff and attended his pro-day today:

Princeton

Twelve teams were able to make it to the Princeton workout to watch quarterback Chad Kanoff. More were expected, but the nor’easter up the east coast made travel impossible for number of people.

Kanoff did not disappoint those on hand.

The big-armed passer measured in at 6-foot-4 and 219 pounds, timed 4.90 in the 40 and posted a vertical jump of 32.5 inches. His hands measured 10-1/4 inches, a big number for a quarterback. Kanoff threw 55 passes; all had excellent velocity, and all were on the money.

The Giants, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts have all shown a lot of interest in Kanoff and were in attendance today. The Cardinals intended to have multiple people on hand, but the weather prevented some from attending.

Colts need to get Kanoff.  He looks like the real deal.  His release is very quick and his 73% completion has to be in part a product of his accuracy.  If anything, it would be a great investment ala Garrapolo should have been for the Pats.

I bet he gets drafted before our 4th.

He'd be the perfect QB to sit behind Eli Manning or if the Cardinals sign a bridge QB.  They are both interested too.

For the record the prospect of note here is another WR - Richie James, who looked good in on field drills at the combine. Damn, the Colts are scouting WRs really hard this draft season. I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted ...two of them.

????

Garappolo was picked roughly 60th overall.

This kid would likely be an undrafted free agent.    If he is drafted,  it would be very late.

One is not like the other....

Colts flying to Baton Rouge to meet with LSU RB Derrius Guice:

After working out for the Tampa Bay Bucs yesterday, LSU running back Derrius Guice will be meeting the Indianapolis Colts in Baton Rouge before jetting off to see the Philadelphia Eagles for an official visit.  I’m told Eagles running back coach Duce Staley is a big supporter of Guice

Colts met with Grand Valley State TE Nick Keizer at his pro-day:

Grand Valley State

Twelve teams were on hand for GVSU's pro day. Receiver Brandon Bean and tight endNick Keizer were the highlights.

Bean, graded as a free-agent prospect before the season, measured 6005 (though he’s been measured at 6-foot-1.5 in the past) and 212 pounds. He timed in the low 4.6s in the 40, 4.25 in the short shuttle and 6.9 in the three-cone. His vertical jump was 35.5 inches. Teams like Bean’s special-teams potential as much as his receiving ability.

Bean met with the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos.

Keizer was not rated coming into the season but gained momentum late in the campaign. He finished the year with 29 receptions for 504 yards and nine TDs.

Keizer came in at 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, timed in the mid-to-high 4.7s, completed 28 reps on the bench press and reached 10-foot-2 in the broad jump. He met with the Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers.

Any thoughts on Colts taking a flyer on wide receiver Cody Latimer?  6'2" 215 4.39 40 former IU boy, he has not done much in Denver but could use a change of scenery.  He is only 25 and could be signed at a low cost multiple year deal....just a idea.  The former 2014 2nd rounder is a free agent still and worth a look in my opinion.

Bradley Chubb met with 5 out of the 6 teams in the top 7 of the draft:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/03/18/bradley-chubb-still-hopes-to-crash-the-top-five-party/

Quote

Chubb’s agent, Erik Burkhardt, tells PFT that the former North Carolina State pass rusher will meet with five teams between Sunday night and Monday morning, in advance of his Pro Day workout in Raleigh. All of the teams with whom Chubb will be meeting currently pick within the top seven of the first round.

There is practically zero chance the Colts are not among those teams. This would mean we've met with him twice officially(pro-day, senior bowl) and multiple times unofficially... IMO it's all but certain if Chubb is there at 6 we pick him.

Colts at NC State Pro-day. Besides the aforementioned meeting with Chubb it seems like the Colts met with Kentavious Street and Justin Jones as well:

Quote

Kentavius Street also did drills and looked terrific.  He was fast, fluid and looked very athletic.  Street timed 4.87s at the combine after weighing in at 280-pounds but strained his hamstring.  He recovered well enough to take part in today’s position drills.

Teams love Street’s versatility and feel he can line-up on the edge in a 4-3 and be used as a 3-tehcnique tackle in sub packages.  Over the past two days Street has met with theArizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions.

Quote

Defensive lineman Justin Jones stood on just about all his numbers from the combine but did position drills and by all accounts looked incredible. As one scout commented, Jones' ability to bend and explode out of his stance was unparalleled all day. Over the course of the past two days, Jones has met with the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts

Played for Mike Phair so there’s some familiarity there. He’s also in the mold of CBs that Ballard prefers. Could be a sleeper late.

Did some research. Talamaivao is a 4 year starter for USC who tore his right pec muscle in October. Listed at 6’2” 315. Could be a late round sleeper at guard.

Yet another receiver with connection to the Colts. IMO it wouldn't be totally surprising if we double dip at WR.

Both Ballard and our O-line coach are at Notre Dame's pro day. Understandable since there are 2 first round prospects at that O-line.
