Bryan Bulaga - RT

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any info on this guy? Looks like Green Bay has some good depth on the OL and he is the only one not signed. I have no clue what his asking price is. Here is a video after the loss to Seattle. He does not seem so sure he will be back. I would love to have him to shore up the right side.

He had a bad rookie season, a great sophmore season, a bad 3rd year, missed his 4th year, and had a good 5th year. I really don't know what to think. Too volatile IMO.

Exactly my thoughts on Bulaga.  He reminds me of Mcglynn somewhat.

McGlynn was never good, certainly not as good as Bulaga has been at times. To me, his issue is staying healthy. And that's going to be the issue for a good half of the guys who make it to free agency.

I wouldn't want to replace an injury prone RT with another injury prone RT, so I'm not too excited about Bulaga. If he came for cheap, I'd be fine with it, but we'd still need a good backup plan.

I'd say Bulaga was a little better this year, but in previous years I remember specifically a game against the Bears on MNF where that whole defensive line was blowing right past Bulaga.  And that wasn't the only game.  I agree with your response pretty much on the whole though.

We lacked consistency causing up and down play all year.  I was all for Cherilus going away until I saw the cap hit  I have seen Bulaga play some REALLY bad games.  When he is down...it is not pretty.

Well GC was bad most of the season Luck was getting lit up most of the mid to late part of the season GC isn't worth the money that he is getting paid so since you think Bulaga isn't worth it either try the draft then most times we have been burned on the free agents that we have been signing like Walden he is terrible toler takes chances and gets burned too many times Landry sucks etc.

You are simply wrong on Walden.  I have no problem with Toler taking chances, and I agree that Landry is not a good fit.  Never have I said I liked him.

I go 4th and fifth round on the OL.  Reitz played really well in Cherilus' s absence.  Maybe someone else in FA. We need a win or two there.  Adams was a win at FS.

Do you think Michael Roos from the Titans is too old at 32?  He was one of the better tackles in the league at one point.

Not sure where he's at right now, but I know he's an unrestricted FA.

He's coming off a bad knee injury. He was playing pretty well to start the year but the Titans are probably ready to have Lewan start on the blindside. It's funny, thus far Lewan has panned out better than Matthews or Robinson.

Walden isn't bad my friends, Landry and RJF are bad on the other hand. I actually liked how toler played this season, but the problem was he always got burned with best receivers in leauge. That can be helped if we had a pass rush( 98). Offensive line? I love AC and Mewhort, but we need a guard like iupati and draft a left tackle to start at RT.

I just looked up some stuff on him a little while ago.  He was talking about retiring at the end Dec. 2015 as well so that's pretty much seals it for me.  Not a prospect.

Mathews was battling a high ankle sprain that he rushed back from. Not sure he was ever 100%

That's true, and definitely Matthews could be much improved next year because of it. I don't think anyone in last years draft class really played that well at the tackle position except for Lewan. The guys that had immediate success were college LTs who slid inside to guard like Martin, Bitonio, and Mewhort.

I like Bulaga being an Iowa fan but Cherlius is way less injury prone then Bulaga if you compare them in terms of total games missed.  Bulaga had one year where he went to IR in like week 1.

Difference is that Cherilus has a degenerative knee condition. Bulaga had two separate injuries, and appears to be fully recovered, considering how well he played in 2014.

He'll probably get a nice, multi-year deal. If I had to guess, I'd say his market is at least $6m/year, and the only reason I wouldn't say it's higher is because of the injury history.
