We are accustomed to thinking high profile, explosive offenses win football games because we won a lot with Manning... but it's been and continues to be proven that a balanced offense that can work drives, finish them and conservatively protect the football, controls the game. That type of offense might not be flashy or put up numbers, but they do wear down defenses slowly and methodically. They put up points, they rest their defense... and combined with a strong defense, wins championships, as the Patriots have how many times now? 

 

It's also why I strongly believe this team, if they stay healthy, could possibly be better suited come playoff time than many of the Colts teams in the past. The defense should get better and more cohesive over time especially with the youth movement continuing and developing. The offense can control the LOS, conservatively protect the football, create 3rd and short and convert them, and has proven they can finish drives in the redzone efficiently. It took 6 weeks to figure out how to close out and win games last year... If we can take care of business tomorrow, it took this team 1 week this year.

Very true, and the experience the team gained with the closeout drives against TEN and especially ATL is going to serve us well in future playoff runs

Specifically Atlanta without Leonard, Hilton the 2nd half, and a slew of starting defenders that were banged up throughout the game.

this could have been two different threads for most hated and most disappointing.  Grigson got a lot of hate, more than any player i can think of for the colts

 

Geroge and Art were disappointing but they didnt get the attention that defaltegate and ruining Lucks career did.  They were also long before social media and thats a big factor too

Art Schichter, Drafted 4th in the 1982 draft, by the Colts,  over the likes of Jim McMahon, Marcus Allen, among others, (even Andrew Luck's dad Oliver Luck) Currently still serving a ten year jail sentence from 2011, If you look at his gambling, fraud, and bad check writing rap sheet, and being in and out of jail his whole life, It would make Pete Rose look like a choir boy,  So much for character studies before the draft. His bio is colorful reading to say the least.
