Not sure if he fits into our scheme but good player who probably has 2 or 3 years left in him.  Article makes it sound like this was a cap move so they could extend some of their younger players.

I'd be open to it on a cheap1to 2 year deal.

If I had to guess he would run about 7 to 8 Mil APY.  With guarantees and everything figured in he was at 10 in his last contract.

Surprised by the move, cost savings I assume.  He is a good player, IMO, and would add some size to the DLine.

From what I read he is especially good at getting pressure on the QB from inside.  A big pusher up the middle.  I can see Ballard being interested.

I was expecting to find this topic in the FA section and found nothing.  Totally surprised then checked General and here it was.  More to come.

Edge Rushers usually get all the glory because they typically are the guy to bring down the QB and collect the sack on their stats.

 

But inside pressure is more meaningful when you can get it.  QB's can typically give their tackles a hand by stepping up into the pocket to avoid edge rushers.  But if the pocket is collapsed from the inside they are put in a pretty difficult situation to get out of.

I totally agree.  That's why I think Ballard might show interest.  Many feel our DT position could use some help and adding a proven talent like Daniels could be the answer.
