I’ll give it a chance but there’s a lot of firsts going on here... first time HC, DC, OC, first time coaching Dline in the NFL, etc... the only guy who has experience in his position is the Oline guy who I’m hoping they replace because he hasn’t been stellar at any of his stops...

It kind of reminds me of how Bill Belichick built his empire in Cleveland. He brought a lot of younger (first timers) with great minds together, and it worked. Most of them are still working in the NFL today.

That report is very wrong.

It says Nick Siranni worked for the Indiana Hoosiers. No he did not!

"Not to be overlooked, Sirianni has roots in the Hoosier state, having spent three seasons (2006-08) coaching wide receivers at Indiana University before making the leap to the NFL with the Chiefs."

He ACTUALLY worked at Indiana University in Pennsylvania. :D

Man, these writers aren't even trying to be right about anything.

For someone who has never hear of Indiana University in Pennsylvania.

Not really since the abbreviation is IUP so it is a common mistake if Indiana University Pennsylvania is not written out

the same way people get Indiana University and University of Illinois mixed up or Kansas and Kentucky mixed up

Actually it is. They are 2 separate colleges with 2 completely different football teams, and they are in 2 completely different states. It is actually an error that is very difficult to make. It takes some heavy lack of comprehension to pull something like that off.

IU and IUP are VERY different.

There is no excuse for a journalist to make that mistake. It's very poor workmanship.

I am not even sure why you're sticking up for the writer.

Good question.  I can see both the Ballard (Sirianni was Chiefs' quality control coach at one point) and Reich connections with this hire.

Everything I've read about Sirianni has seemed very positive.

He did a lot with San Diego's WR corps, which isn't necessarily the most talented (especially when it is without Allen).

He and Ballard weren't in KC at the same time

No

Pocket Examples

the same way people get Princeton Community, Pike Central and Perry Central-all PCHS confused

 or

People are thrown by Evansville Reitz and Evansville Reitz Memorial

If you are not from an area it is very tough

Easy mistake since they are both irrelevant football programs....I kid, I kid!

The writer was wrong because of lazy journalism.

You evidently do not understand the responsibility of a journalist.

It was lazy work.

Because I read the article. Did you?

Saying someone has worked in the same state and "has roots" in the area of his new opportunity is completely different than him actually working a few states away.

It is lazy journalism.
