Blackhawk4
The Raiders fired him today. Surprised by this a bit, but I guess the Raiders are truly trying to start fresh. It seems like the transition from the Al Davis era is starting to really pick up.Source - http://espn.go.com/n...ear-source-says
CR91
ok that makes no sense. the guy actually maded the raiders competative which is more then any coach did.
MKDK
Probably saw himself as co-GM after Davis' passing, and giving up a 1st and 2nd for Carson Palmer. McKenzie was having none of that.
MTC
I'm a little surprised to be honest. I would of gave him another chance for a playoff run next season.

They ended up with the same record.
WSO
Looking at the stats the raiders were actually better last year than this year. I think the illusion is they were actually in the playoff hunt until the very end this year
21isSuperman
I've heard that he was starting to act like Bill Polian. He would try to control every aspect of the team and wouldn't take any responsibility for anything going wrong with the team. He became really power hungry after Al passed away and people around him didn't like it. Looks like McKenzie didn't like it either.
ReMeDy
Let's replace Caldwell with Hue Jackson. At least Jackson isn't afraid to tell it how it is! If Caldwell would have said this after the Colts-Saints blowout loss, I would have forgiven him:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZrAqXFle9Q
JColts72
Giving up the farm and then some for Palmer would have cost anyone their job

Here's a quote from Hue himself."When I think back on it, I think I'm being blamed, and have been blamed, for (all of that)," Jackson told Yahoo! "What gets me is, I know (Bengals owner) Mike Brown and I know Carson Palmer, but I didn't make the trade. That decision came from above. It involved draft picks and money. There is no way a 1st year, 1st time HC is going to be given that much pull. The trade was stupid, Hue prolly just hoped another mans foolhardy decision would give him more wins. The influence he had after Davis' passing got to his head.Looks like I wasn't way off with that...
Case
It is pretty crazy he was let go after one year, but that's what happens when u bring in a new gm I guess. They want their people in the positions they want. Hope colts gm follows
bap1331
Seems like an Al Davis type move. If they won a Super Bowl, they probably will fire the coach...
