Best 1 - 2 punch in the NFL?

...it's nice to want.

As of right now, such a thought is mere delusion. Sure, they've played sterling defenses, such as those employed by the Texans (145 pts allowed), Jaguars (135 pts allowed), and Bills (105 pts allowed). Perhaps that's why the Colts only scored an average of 18 points in each of those games and ~20 points over the first five (including tougher defenses like the titans and the jets).

By most metrics, the colts rank in the bottom third of the league this year. The colts score on ~28 percent of their drives; the jaguars score on a greater percentage of drives than the colts have this year. 20 percent of their drives have ended in a turnover. Their rushing effiency (3.9 Y/A) would rank them 23rd, and their passing efficency would rank them 21st.

The OL is a huge part of this problem; succesful drives begin and end at the line; without a good OL, the Colts will continue to struggle.

About 24 other teams, including the Colts. Philly is a disaster this year because of a lack of OL.

Honestly, the emphasis on RBs in the NFL astounds me. The variance in rushing efficiency between teams is miniscule; 95 percent of teams are within a yard of average rushing efficiency. Spending on RBs at the cost of the OL is one of many NFL marketing inefficiencies.

a running back can still lead a team to the playoffs, though it is becoming less common.

AP, for example the year he won mvp

would seattle have made the super bowl and won it with an average running back?

People over-rate the Eagles backfield tremendously.... What have Murray and Mathews done so far.... pretty much jack-all.

Even when Lynch returns, it's a no name back behind him who has had one good game so far.

Freeman + Coleman are a good tandem, but that entire offense is just firing on all cylinders at the moment, not just those two RBs.

Gurley is a rookie and therefore still an unknown, Mason isnt exactly a HOF....

Spiller and Ingram have been disappointing in NO....

The only other DUO that I would say are potentially a better pairing are Bell and Williams in Pittsburgh.

Homer level 1000

You're kidding.

How about Peterson and a water jug is better.

The two RB in Atlanta are better.

New Orleans with Ingram and Spiller are better

The two in Buffalo are better.

Seattle once Beast Mode comes back are better.

Indy is barely in the top 10

I disagree with ingram and spiller being better. If bradshaw producing like last year and gore keeps doing what he's doing there is noway ingram and spiller could be better.

One is fumble prone and one is injure prone

Would you say Edgerin James was fumble prone?.... James is 53 spots ahead of him on the career fumbles list with 44 fumbles in his 11 year career.... 4 fumbles a year...

How about Barry Sanders?.... 41 fumbles in his 10 year career... 4.1 fumbles a year...

Gore has 38 in his so far 10 and almost a half year career..... That's about 3.61 fumbles a year....

How about Adrian Peterson?...... 33 fumbles in his 9 and almost a half year career.... That's 3.47 fumbles a year... hardly much difference there.... Not to mention Peterson skipped pretty much 2 of those years... making his rate more like 4.4 fumbles a year
