I am hoping we trade up in the second round to get Perryman

Recommended Posts

He is the opposite of Freeman.

Perryman is the hardest hitter in this draft. He would be the take on linebacker and his primary responsibility would be to stop the run.

Perryman is an undersized gap shooter just like JF. Neither can cover

So another ILB that's not that great in coverage just what our D needs... Knowing Grigs he would trade next years 1st to get to the top if the 2nd to take Perryman

Perryman could go early in the second, but I think he falls toward the middle-late second. Look at the board right now. There is a lot of talent still available.

The take on linebacker doesn't usually cover. He is mainly there to blow things up.

He's like a Freeman clone

You are on a roll. Please man settle down for your own health just joking. Perryman is nothing like Freeman as he is a run stuffer and the hard hitting ILB we need. He also isn't the best in coverage something that Freeman is pretty decent at.

So you think you know what is best for the Colts?

We all are entitled to our opinion, but obviously the Colts front office decided if we did not take Dorsett then we would be passing on him.

We cannot take them all. We only get one pick. Grigson made sure to get an impact player this time in the first round. I commend him for that.

Freeman is our best linebacker in coverage. It's his best quality. Just what are you watching when you see the Colts play?

well I remember seeing him and DQ get destroyed by TEs don't forget the whole D getting smashed by the pats every year

God people actually think Freeman is great too this is almost as bad as thinking the Dorsett pick was good....

No one said Freeman is great, but he is well above average.

And the Dorsett pick was a good pick.

How about you go watch some film on this kid before making a rash impression.

well I know our D is old as hell and has 0 playmakers besides Vontae and Mathis and that's hoping Mathis returns to form

DQ is not good in coverage. Freeman is. I can't watch watch the games for you man. You have to do that on your own.

I know I'm prolly like the 100th person to say this but here we go again.

I don't give a crap how good Dorsett is I'm not saying he sucks the point is our D is old as hell and WR was prolly our strongest position after QB

The draft is not over yet, and we don't know how well our defense will play next year.

If we went into every draft reaching for needs then we might as well just give up. Teams that do that will always get caught chasing it's tail.

Grigson was right when he said that we have to let the board dictate the draft, and that is what he did. He took the BPA on his board.

Yeah, here we do go again. Fans who actually think they know more than an NFL GM, who has NFL scouts giving him all of the data he needs on every player in the draft. Grigson made an informed decision, based on information that we have absolutely no idea about. But yet as fans, we are supposed to think we know better? That is not reality man.

Maybe griggs has nfl scouts giving him info BUT WE have draft sites and YouTube!

Yeah that does make things really equal seeing how we are all very well trained scouts. Think we can interview the players, players coaches, and everyone the players know on YouTube?

yeah to actually help the team not stack one position with 8 pro bowlers ther is only 1 ball

But our D will continue to blow but is ok cause we have 8 pro bowl WRs

If we had taken a RT, you wouldn't be acting like there's no such thing as Rounds 2-8. I don't get why you're playing these extremes now.

So, let me see if I'm understanding this correctly. Only 1st round guys are worth anything on any unit(?). Is that correct?

If true, we should have traded the rest of our picks for the #32 and taken another sure fire, can't miss, play making, 1st rounder.

Anything beyond the 1st is seemingly trash.

Yeah, there's your problem. That's not what the draft is for.

ok, then it's for stockpiling at one position so that you can overload and then skip 31 picks to get lesser talent at the position you REALLY needed to fill.  That's it, that's what it's for.

atleast RT could help us more. We all know there are more picks but if you look at Grigson track record of finding talented D players later in the draft you should know why everyone is * off. Who from later rounds has done much of anything for us besides maybe Newsome but he's still a ?

    • Ignoring anything to do with accuracy, level of play, etc., just based on his injury history through 8 games, it's highly unlikely he will be our QB in a few years.  It's a catch 22 with him.  If you don't utilize his legs, it will be very difficult to win with him.  If you do utilize his legs, it will be very difficult to keep him on the field.  I've come to the conclusion that his size is not necessarily a benefit.  The collisions are harder.  He goes to the ground harder.  You don't see some of the gentle drops and rolls you see with Lamar Jackson.     The fact that he's also tied to a front office that might be counting their days doesn't help either.
    • Id say avoid drafting or taking players from your team that you’re a fan of. I’m an avid fantasy guy and also a sports bettor. I literally will avoid taking any Colts players In fantasy and also during the week in fantasy football I avoid taking the props of the players I’m playing against. I never want to wish bad on anyone so for that very reason I avoid those guys. For me personally it has helped tremendously, I can still enjoy the game without bias.
    • I will just say this about the comparisons between Luck and AR.  And even Manning.   First, as far as overall talent?  I think AR has more talent than Andrew.  And I say that as the biggest Luck fan that there is.  I loved that guy.  But he always reminded me of a Manning wannabe.  Someone who had more pure talent.  Who was very smart.  But I never ever got the feeling that he wanted to win and put in the hours that Manning did.  And I think that was proven when he retired so early.  Manning was like an AI robot who studied 23 hours a day.  Just a huge will to win.    But what Luck had was pain tolerance, drive and overall ability due to his teaching since he was a kid...and his will to do what is right for the team.    IMO that was 100% MORE than AR's is right now.  Not even close.    If only you could clone a combo between Manning and his smarts, Luck and his pain tolerance, and AR and his pure athletic ability.    I am sorry but unless AR is the unluckiest person in the history of the NFL, NO ONE gets hurt this much.  He is a wreck.  Heck I remember in his first pre season game last year he ran out of bounds and started to limp.  Literally his very first hit ever.  Right then I said to myself "uh oh".  And then he has not finished what......4 of his all time starts?  Out of 8?  I mean....that is not normal QB behavior.  He seems to get hurt on almost every hit he takes.    Make that make sense.    It is very VERY odd to say the least.   I want AR to do well because he seems like a good guy and he has all the talent in the world  But after this last game and his words after? For lack of a better word I don't think he has any ability at all to do 2 things.     One....protect himself.   Two.....take a hit and feel pain without it being the end of the world.  He seems to have no pain tolerance whatsoever.  Which is fine.  Just don't be an NFL Qb as a result.
    • I'm not creating anything.  Till AR can stay on the field it's Flacco that has to be tough.
    • I understand that but till AR shows he can stay on the field, Flacco has to be the man. It's that simple.
