You guys really are wound up? Come on it is us Bostonians that are supposed to be tight and have no sense of humor. It is just a football game you know. If you can't have fun this week, then when? You are IN the game to go the Super Bowl. Good times all around.

Yes, we are wound up a bit and I'm enjoying it. The cheap shot after saying a compliment is lame, though.

I thought that Chistian from Foxborough, as he called himself, was a total * and that I hoped he was in a distinct minority of the way Patriot fans act. When I found out that he was an on air personality of WEEI and that he did this sort of thing on a regular basis, I thought he should not be employed anymore along with whoever approved the idea.

So you were proud of the way your talk show host acted in response?

AM:  I agree it was good radio and funny.  But, I think Dakich make him sound like an *.  AND I WORK FOR THE SAME COMPANY THAT CHRISTIAN DOES!  But, you need to remember you are on a COLTS fan forum.  COLTS.  Great that you're a Pat fan.  I don't think anybody cares about that.  It's the Pats slamming of the colts saying they have no right to be in the SB and aren't a real team.  That's what Christian was doing and then you tell all of the colts fans they were punked.  You get back what you put out.

I am not proud or disappointed, having listened to Dakich in the past he will generally reflect the callers attitude. If the caller is a jerk Dakich will be a jerk back, if the caller is reasonable Dakich will be reasonable.

Dakich gets on my nerves sometimes and can be a bit brassy.  However, he flat out knows sports.  He was stating facts.  In a heated manner, yes. But facts.  And, don't act like Christian wasn't trying to get a rise out of him.  He was.  So, he got one.

He does? He said the last time the Colts beat the Pats was two years ago .

You're right.  I'm sure you have never misquoted anything or made a mistake that you have taken back.  I know I haven't.

You lose a lot of credibility when you are a sports talk show host and get that point wrong. You should know that working in radio. I worked in communications as well, the PR side ...

You also lose a lot of credibility when you act like a 16 year old and prank call another radio station when you work for one.

Christian didn't have all of his facts either.  You know PR I'm sure.  But, I know radio.  And, in live talk radio...you're not going to be 100% correct 100% of the time.  Dakich has huge numbers here and is very well respected.  He wouldn't be if he didn't know what he was talking about.

Dakish did say he knew no one could be that stupid at the end of the clip. So not sure you're * from Baaaawston "punked "anyone. Amazing that a grown man (Fauria) could be so stupid to waste everyones time. Does he have a job ?

Anyway Dakish is right on with the cheating stuff. Anyone that thinks (ask Marshal Faulk) all that blatant cheating didn't mean anything is a fool. You don't get 6 figure fines AND forfeit a first round draft pick for something that didn't have any effect. Really should just award that SB win to the Rams.

Based on Goodell's mishandling of the Rice tape, you know what he found on the spygate tapes must have been so grevious that he had to destroy them rather than make a joke about the sport he just became the commissioner of when it comes to light that the winners of 3 of the last 4 cheated.

He didn't know that the Colts had won a Superbowl after the Patriots had.  Now, I'm moving on with my life.  Enjoy the game Sunday.

yes he did. He was asked when the Pats last won a SB and he said 2004 and then the host said Indy was more recent in 2006. Christian never got any facts wrong.

He sounded like he didn't know.  Clearly the article wouldn't have been written about how his call backfired on him if he sounded like he was a recent addition to the Mensa society.  By the way, we have several on-air personalities that are incredible intelligent and mature, as unbelievable as that sounds....

Lol at Pats fans who have to go to other teams boards to maintain their own self view.

Gawd the fall is going to be hard for you when your team diminishes. The difference? I won't be over at your board needling you or poking ineffective, poorly disguised jabs at your demise.

I do think the radio guys probably are mature and the TV guys but not when they got air. Got to keep the ratings. It is sad what has happened to the media the last 10 years. Sensationalism has taken over with viral social media. You should PM some time. Would love to discuss the state of the industry with you. I am a woman as well in case you could not tell from my screen name.

To each his own but I worked in comm, radio in general has very few mature people. Nature of the beast. TV as well. Unless you like shows like First Take and such.

I cannot believe you just said this.  Do you have any idea how many stations/personalities/promotions people have raised million of dollars for great organizations and done things for the local towns?  That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard in my life.  I have tried to be nice on this thread.  But, I'm afraid you just made that impossible.  What about PR?  Are people mature in PR?  Good grief...

Relax. I did not say they were all evil or don't do good things. lol.

And PR people are behind the scenes trying to toe the line between their clients and the media and praying that a bomb shell does not drop like what just happened in Denver. Most of them drink heavily.

You know the ribbing from Dakich got to ya, if you start attacking his knowledge of the 4th and 2, situation. I know if I was a Pats fan, having Dakich make fun of Belichick for cheating would get under my skin too. I mean c'mon. How does knowing the other teams game plan and plays help at all? That's like saying I would be a better Hold 'Em player if I knew my opponents hole cards.

Let's just say we've met in the playoffs on numerous occasions, in some pretty big games. Lately we've lost some but that doesn't mean we're not rivals. We go out and win this one, then what? Are we rivals then? How many games does Indy need to win for this to become a rivalry? I think it kind of stupid to argue about. I think it's a rivalry if someone else doesn't then fine. Really both people sounded like *s even after accounting for the fact it was a prank.

You know it's a rivalry when Patriot fans make a Colts forum their primary football forum.

You know it's a rivalry when you see former Patriot players take shots at the Colts any chance they get.

lol. You guys were totally punked. That is Christian Fauria from our radio station that called in. He was a TE with the Pats during the champ years. He is faking the Boston accent. He called to just get a rise out of your guy. Love the "when was the last time you beat the Pats?" and your guys said two years ago on the 4ht and two. And Christian said nah, try 2009. LOL.

I listened to it live and soon as he said he was driving through Indiana and was from foxborough I knew it was a prank.....and then made it even more obvious with the accent. I can't believe anyone fell for it. But Dakich is a massive tool anyway. Not the first time he has been pranked.

    • Did you all take notice to all the different Swiss-army knife type of guys they drafted and/or signed this year? I was writing in the RB's thread and thought this could use its own thread to discuss.   Is this a radical change in philosophy by Ballard and Dodds?   Is this Shane Steichen's imprinting himself on the roster? Starting with Downs last year and Gould this year as they are not a prototypical CB type of WR   Is this simply a one-off because all 25 starters are under contract from last year?   Is this pure dumb luck to pick up these types of players?   Drafted Bortolini - Started and played at all but LT in his college career Gonclaves - Started at both LT and RT in his career Simpson - Started at both CB and FS at Auburn and played well at both Abraham - Started at FS in college and then CB while at Marshall and played well at both - reverse of Simpson (and definitely not a prototypical CB defensive back in terms of measurables but is essentially the same build as Moore without the super long arms) Carlies - Started at CB, then hybrid SS/LB and now LB for us - offers 3rd down coverage abilities     UDFA Tucker - Started and played both RT/RG at Marshall Slovis - Started in three different offensive systems in college at USC/Pitt/BYU - that does help his cause IMHO - Plus at USC played with NFL caliber talent around him and was amazing Pennix - Started at RB, played HB/FB and TE lining up all over the field (for my fellow ND fans just think how they utilized Tommy Tremble - who is woefully underused in Carolina) Bean - Started at QB and did well at KU last year but now listed as a combo QB/WR because of his running abilities - interesting though as a third QB while rostered as a WR - doubt it happens but does expand the trick play ability as well as having a rostered QB without taking up the 3rd spot on the 53???? Again, one can dream but he'd have to show out to even crack the top 6 WR slots. White - Started his career in college as a RB and converted to WR - his RAC is superb Young - Started at S with OSU and then converted to LB at KU - offers 3rd down coverage abilities like Carlies   Thoughts?   Any other outliers I may have missed?
    • This is an interesting topic to discuss and there are and likely will still be many opinions, so what the &%$# I'll offer my opinion as well! LOL   Locks Jonathan Taylor: Clear number one and paid like a franchise back Evan Hull: Drafted by CB/SS to operate as a third down/pass catching back   The case for the rest Trey Sermon: Has the build and play strength to be a durable lead back which makes him the default backup to JT as the lead back. Earned another long look as he performed well when called upon last year AND has a bit of a leg up because he was also with SS in Philly for a year. Familiarity counts sometimes.   Tyler Goodson: As a change-of-pace scat back I guess he could add a different dimension to the backfield and as a return man. I wonder if he adds more value than Pennix (mentioned later).    Zavier Scott: Converted WR from Maine. I am sure they see something in him to sign him and then convert him, perhaps another year on the PS will complete that transition but I don't see him supplanting Sermon or Hull UNLESS they are strictly looking for a special team's guy as a backup?   Trent Pennix: This year's UDFA that was a versatile RB, HB and TE in college and for my fellow Notre Dame fans think how they used Tommy Tremble as a Swiss army knife guy offensively and that was Pennix role. Pennix is technically a better athlete than Tremble (who is absolutely being wasted on the Panthers roster) so I really like his chances over Goodson and Scott because of his versatility and previous HB/TE duties as a blocker. I big, bruiser that can run AND catch the ball out of the backfield, in the flats as an HB or down the seam as an in-line blocker offers a lot of options to a creative play-caller like SS.  I like Granson but I wonder if this is potentially his replacement this year or next? They are extremely similar in size/speed measurables, and this is Granson's contract year so it makes sense if they are looking ahead even if they are listing Pennix as a RB?    Ultimately, I think this decision for the third back and fourth back is dependent on what they decide at WR (Goodson at RB and Gould over Dulin for example) and TE (Cut Alie-Cox and perhaps Pennix as a FB/HB/TE combo over Granson).
    • I wanted stroud but knew he wouldn't  be there. I did like Richardson  over Levi's though
