DirecTV / NBC (local)

I am really confused by this, so does that mean the game will just automatically pop on channel 13 during game day or is there something in particular one has to do???

I think Sunday Ticket is safe, but I'm betting we won't be seeing tomorrow night's, or Sunday night's games.

We'll know for sure tomorrow night though.

If that turns out as I expect, and antenna may be in order, or NBC online.

I'm in Bama, so I have no idea what channel 13 is for you. Are you saying your Direct TV NBC feed is already turned off? Mine still works, as of yesterday.

I just quoted what they said on their website, that the NFL games will still be on.

It's dated today (9/3).

I'm pretty much in Indianapolis... I haven't checked channel 13/NBC today yet but it was out the other day.

I'm guessing that has more to do with the Sunday Ticket than the Sunday Night games (including tomorrow night's game).

Sunday Ticket is a deal with the league, not necessarily the networks.

I don't know, but I guess we'll know for sure tomorrow night.

As I said earlier, the Sunday Ticket never showed Thursday, Sunday night or Monday night games.  Unless they changed that this year, I wouldn't expect Ticket owners to get the game Sunday in those 700 channels.

I may be wrong, we'll see.

I'm in Indy now. The first I'd heard of this situation, I though it was a local Indy dispute.

But now Raycomm's brought into the picture. I'd guess that'd be national(?).

Anyway, 13 is NBC here, and there's no programming on it right now.

Roger that, the promise really doesn't state Direct Ticket or College Gameday in particular but I just browsed through it really fast, guess we will find out tomorrow.. I wonder if DYV may stream the games???

Interesting.  You're one of the unlucky 50 locals.  Could be a good time to call DTV and demand compensation.  Like free Sunday Ticket!

I'm in southern Indiana and our NBC affiliate(Wave 3 Louisville) is off of Directv as well. I went and bought an antenna today and I'm sending the bill to Directv lol. Gonna call them and give them a piece of my mind(spoliers: they don't care), but their call center is seemingly overwhelmed...

WaVe is a Raycom station and there are 2 parties to the problem

Sorry guys, I inadvertently lied to you all. When I got home today I found our DTV NBC station gone. I called up customer retention and asked them to explain this statement from their website:

"We appreciate their patience since it has a direct impact on their bill. Despite Raycom’s unnecessary blackout, NFL and college football fans can see all of the first few week’s action uninterrupted"

They basically said it wasn't true, if they don't work out the dispute with Raycom, we will NOT get the Sunday night game. Even if you have the Ticket.

I complained long enough to get a pretty good compensation. I'll leave it at that.

So, if they're still out by Sunday you can go over the air or stream it.

Because I tried

Antenna could see cbs but it seemed the signal was not strong enough for a picture

I just tried indoor antennas

Nadine, go here and out in street address and zip code.  See what FCC says about coverage strength-.

http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/

Then go here and see what type antenna mates to that reception characteristics-

http://antennaweb.org

Always make sure any antenna is mounted as high as possible, and away form reflective surfaces.  And price isn't commiserate to performance.  Two cheap ($35) indoor antennas pulled in the most stations in a consumer reports test recently.  But this one always gets high praise and accolades.  This version is a 50 mile amplified version, omnidirectional.  Might be worth a shot-

Good luck.

Wow, I've missed this topic or my 2 cents would have been added sooner.

(FYI, I live in TX, so things may be a bit different) I dropped DTV when I bought my house last year and I've gone to streaming and a wall antenna.  My wall antenna can be finicky, and it depends on where it is on the wall as to what channels I'll get.  ABC is the hardest for me, but it's no bother since Hulu usually picks up their shows anyways.

It cost $30 from Lowes and channels come in HD.  If you need a quick fix, it's the way to go.

Doesn't DTV have an option for customers with Sunday Ticket to stream?  Or am I pulling that out of my bum?

The problem for most of us in Indiana is Raycom which owns or partners with the NBC affiliates in the Evansville(WFIE), Louisville(WAVE), and Indianapolis(WTHR) have pulled their stations from Direct and the ST does not cover the Night games

No, you're right.  This is from the Direct TV website "...Despite Raycom’s unnecessary blackout, NFL and college football fans can see all of the first few week’s action uninterrupted, and the majority of ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC series won’t premiere for several more weeks."

So how will this work? I am in Evansville are they just going to show the Game then just turn it off???

From my vantage point in WI, my Direct TV provider lists tonights game & I am receiving the channel right now with no problems. Like you said, buccolts watch it online.  Good luck M-432 man. I feel bad that some diehard Colts fans can't see the game tonight. That blows...

Everyone south of the Indianapolis Market except for those in Terre Haute Market and the Cincy Market are blacked out
