Exchanging fortunes

Picture the dinner table at Archie and Olivia's house with Peyton and Eli over after the NFL season is finally over. One son, Eli, is basking in the glow of having won his second SB. His older brother, the one everyone thought would have a couple of SB's, has spent the year seeking answers, surgeries, and hope. It appeared that their careers were going in different directions.

Two years later, Eli is on a Giants team that are 0-6, and look so out of sync, they might not win a game. His older brother is on a torrid pace of QBing that is so blistering, its unprecedented. Their fortunes have completely reversed.

Such extreme opposites. I think this family just attracts massive energy from the universe. They are like a nexus in the time continuum.

It's all cyclical...its no different then it was when Eli first came into the league and he struggled while Peyton was winning MVPs and the Superbowl in '06. Then Eli wins in '07 and '11 while Peyton misses a season due to injury...now its back to Peyton on top and Eli on the way, way bottom.

Actually Peyton has always been consistantly great. 1 year of injury that he didn't play...but throughout his career he has had great individual and sometimes team success. Eli has been the one up and down...he just isn't a consistant qb....unfortunately for the Patriots he had a couple of his craziest greatest game/seasons against them. It is why I don't get all the Eli must be better than Peyton talk just because he won 2 SBs. No doubt he has had plenty of success and you can't take anything away from him but he may never even be a HOF if he doesn't put some consistancy together.

Peyton hasn't won anything yet this year save for 5 games.

Eli's season is over.

Dont be so sure. The Giants are only two games out of first place.

Your comment about Peyton is funny. That same logic would say that the Patriots in 2007 hadn't won anything prior to losing to the Giants.....save for 18 games. Sounds a little silly doesn't it?

Have you been watching Eli? Giants will be lucky to win 2-3 games this year. Managment has already told Coughlin that it is up to him if he wants to come back next year, http://www.sportsmedia101.com/newyorkgiants/2013/10/11/report-new-york-giants-will-allow-tom-coughlin-the-choice-to-return-for-2014-season/. That is how bad it is and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

If you were to apply my same logic to the 2007 Pats than it would be accurate to say that after 5 games they were 5-0 and had won nothing other than 5 games. Same as Denver this year.

Have you been watching the Eagles, Cowboys and Redskins? This Division is still wide open.
