Bengals' Special Delivery

He's probably the team supplier. I mean, if I played in Cincy, I'd want to be stoned all day too.

Ok. I guess I'm being dense here but I don't get this at all. :???:

I've read a couple of articles about this and saw it being discussed on NFL channel. What am I missing?

Quotes from article:

Police said a package containing 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana was delivered from Eureka, Calif., to the suburban Kentucky home of Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson on Tuesday, where authorities say they conducted a search and found six more pounds of marijuana inside.

They had it all set up to receive supplies of high-grade marijuana from Northern California, and from there, it was being distributed from that residence," LaNier told California Watch.

Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said he had heard rumors of the bust but had no further comment.

"There’s nothing of substance in the development of rumors that we’re aware of," he said. "There’s nothing to hang a hat on at this point."

If they found six lbs of pot why is this noting but an unsutantiated rumor, and why was he not prosecuted?

They were talking about this on JMV yesterday afternoon the guy who JMV had on said one of the major contributing factors to why the Bengals always have people in trouble is because of how cheap their owner is. His scouting department is so bare bones that they can not even do basic background checks like other teams do. So they may know this guy is good at football, but they do not know if the guy is in * in his life outside of football.

It explains a lot when you really cannot look into a players personal life and see who he is. It is one thing to have a knuckle head or have someone do something stupid because you are going to have 50+ guys on a team. One is bound to do something stupid, but when you repeatedly have guys in trouble there is definitely a problem.

EDIT: It blocks out id10t? Really? That is a bit much.

Cool, another person thrown in a cage and stripped of his freedom over a silly plant.

These bureaucrats need to be strung up from the tallest tree and burned while they strangle at the business end of the rope. Sick freaks that will do anything to keep their perverted bureaus alive. "National Marijuana Initiative"...lol right..

Yeah Benson is in trouble too, but I believe he is appealing it. These Bengals are *. Pretty consistently too. I wonder if the team has three or four jail cells on reserve at all the local facilities.

Nope, no reason to have that much unless you distribute. Regardless of ones opinions, until the laws change, one cannot excuse such foolish endeavors. Especially being run out of a home owned by a guy that makes way more than anyone needs to simply get by.

I will say, however, that if the penalty for speeding was to have your foot chopped off, than we would likely rise up and put a stop to such egregious penalties. As it is with weed, the penalties outweigh the crime. Despite the federal governments claims, nothing brings their wrath more than people making money without them getting a cut.

It was estimated that in 2009, just from the revenue generated from illicit sales of marijuana, if legal, the government of California alone could have gathered upward of 1 billion dollars in taxes.

For a state that is broke to the point where they cannot fund their schools ($42 billion deficit), yet they can dump $150 million annually into combating the existence of a harmless plant, what are we thinking as a nation? Where do our priorities lay?

Simpson is being allowed to play. What a joke. The NFL rolls around in hypocrisy like a pig in mud.

That's just Goodell being Goodell

    • I should  clarify what I said to lead off this thread.  When I said I was wrong I didn’t mean about Jacoby being the starter I meant being wrong about the lack of deep shots last week.   Overall Jacoby held his own against a really good secondary but the Colts let the Titans do exactly what the announcers said they would do if the Colts didn’t stretch field.  They sat on the receivers and took away the intermittent stuff and started stacking the box and that’s when Jacoby started to look really indecisive and was holding the ball too long.  He had about 40 yards passing in the second half.  That’s not going to win a lot of games.     Overall Jacoby has been about what I expected him to be, good enough to keep the Colts in games and give them a chance to win.  Still to take the next step he has to be able to go down the field.   it wasn’t all on the receivers either, the announcers showed a play where if he gave TY another second or two he was coming open on the crossing pattern but Jacoby dumped it off before then.
    • Still better then being a Titans or Texans fan. I'm not even going to mention being a Jags fan, that's just dumb.
    • There are HIGH SCHOOL kickers who dont miss extra points   The guy has been a legend   But....   He is ruining his legacy by trying to play even one more game.........  He is DONE
    • That was a playoff caliber win.  The team had to grind and grind hard to get just enough opportunities to lock this one up and it came down to Reich successfully implementing a good clock strategy to run the Titans out of time to come back.   Brissett... needs a little work, but he was good enough to win against a team that's probably going to be playing in January.  This makes me feel a lot more confident that the Colts will be in the playoff mix and can win when they get there.   I mean thinking in Superbowl terms I don't think anyone's getting through the Pats this year but if anyone does, it will be a team with a strong defense and a complete squad with no major weaknesses, and I think that describes us pretty well.  Anyway, we have as good a chance as anyone right now to be the team they meet in the AFCCG.   Very much encouraged by their ability to win this game.  This is a game they could have easily laid down and died after giving up their lead in the second half... looked like they were poised to do just that, then Reich and Brissett engineer a drive in the 4th quarter and then burn a lot of clock to help the defense hold that lead.  That was a signature win IMHO.  One that is going to help turn these players into a proper team, one for the franchise to grow on.
    • So you're fine with his atrocious kicking.    Gotcha.
