Is Nick Cross ok?

Cross came back and played after he got hurt. He finished the game.

I also want to give him props. He has constantly been in good position this year.

His ball skills are just lacking and that makes me feel like hes playing out of position, but he looks like a really good football player to me.

I’m not sure. I think he’s getting better, that play he made to actually cause the first interception was a thing of beauty

Yeah and hes been all over the place. I think he has around 40 tackles thru 3 games and Ive seen him miss a few as well.

He should have made a play on that long ball early in the game (to Odunze I belueve), he was right there and just missed it.

I like him as a SS. He's got juice and can run with anybody.

Noticed him on Rome a few times where Rome couldn't shake that speed.

Is this the same dude the forum " experts" called a bust and wanted the Colts to cut? That guy?

Cross just need to trust his athletic skills and realize that he is a 4.3 guy not 4.5 and play tight on the line during rezone or short passing attempts. Cross has been very good for us so far this year we just need him and Blackmon to stay healthy.

Didn't people want him cut because he hurt Downs in practice? That was silly.

But I think most people just felt like he as unproven at FS...which he is.

He's been solid so far though. And his speed certainly plays. I tend to think he's more suited for SS though.

Yeah I will own it and eat my crow. I called to cut him when that happened. Overreaction in hindsight.

Ridiculous. He smothered, what 40 yards downfield a very big, elite speed guy, he turned his head back perfectly timed, got his arm up right in the heart of the receivers catch basket, but the ball came in what, 3-4 inches to the side of his arm. No, he covered that bomb incredibly well, sometimes it happens. He had the same coverage on the tip for an interception play.

He doesn't have that much game experience. But you can see that the speed of the game is coming to him. I'm seeing a guy with a very high ceiling and pray we find more just like him.

Yeah I know but he should still make that play. He put himself in position to do so and that definitely means something, regardless.

    • AR faced a decent defense with Houston and one with Chicago but Pittsburgh is a different story. They will pressure every time and have a terrific front 7.  Talk about being baptized by fire along with 20k Steelers fans in the building. This will be Richardson's' toughest test so far this season. This is where AR has to make the plays and not miss on open receivers, which he has woefully done. It will be hard to run the football but I never underestimate Taylor but this game may fall directly on AR's back and I just see a bad day this Sunday. Pittsburgh will probably not score many points and I think interceptions will be the difference.   Steelers 20 Colts 9
    • Williams over the first three weeks:   14/29 - 93 yards - 0 TD - 0 INT - 2 sacks 23/37 - 174 yards - 0 TD - 2 INT - 7 sacks  33/52 - 363 yards - 2 TD - 2 INT - 4 sacks    Jones made incredible plays on those interceptions, so credit to him. But without those incredible plays, Williams numbers would be A LOT better. This secondary STINKS.
    • I've never liked it, on either side of the ball. I thought Steichen did a good job with it last season, and I don't think he's had the game/clock management issues that are usually problems. But it could be that his focus during the week needs to be spread out a bit more.   In some situations, there is a play caller who is so good that it makes up for his game management issues. I think Sean McVay has been the standard for this -- he's had his share of mistakes, especially with timeouts and kick/go decisions, but he's just been such an excellent offensive play caller that it's still a net positive. I don't think Steichen's play calling has been to that level at any point so far.
    • Can you two just kiss and make up. Everyone is allowed to their opinion and conjecture
    • I’m growing increasingly weary of head coaches who want to be play callers. There’s just too many other responsibilities both on gameday and throughout the week in general that everything seems to suffer as a result. We saw frank lose the “feel” of the game going on around him all the time. We also saw his teams come out and look underprepared on the regular. There’s a common thread with these issues.    I understand the intended purpose, but for every one head coach who can actually pull it off, there’s 5 or more who don’t seem to be able to do it, but are content to drown trying.
