2018 - 4 (Andrew Luck)

2019 - 1 (Jacoby Brissett)

2020 - 2 (Phillip Rivers)

2021 - 5 (Carson Wentz)

2022 - 0 (Matt Ryan)

2023 - 5 (Gardner Minshew)

2024 - 3 (Anthony Richardson) in one game

How would 12-19 sound? Because the interception intended for grandson was the turfs fault. The missed throw to AD was AD not being sure of the route to run. He even put up his hands at the line of scrimmage as if tho say he didn't know the play. And there was another obvious drop by somebody (Pittman?). Considering everything, he had a very good game.

I have had a strange feeling today because usually after a loss I am depressed. For some reason I am pleased other than how the Run D played. Maybe it is because of AR's play. His deep balls and running ability are incredible. I don't think Love is playing this week so we should win and next week we play the Bears who had no offense at all yesterday. I think we will end up 2-1 through these 1st 3 games.

It almost feels like we didn't even lose, and I never think like that.

Stop throwing to Pittman when half of the defense is around him

As I recall, there was the fake to JT, then AR went over the middle to a well covered Pittman, incomplete.  Meanwhile, though, after the fake hand off JT ran out to the sideline about 5 yards downfield totally uncovered.  Had AR tossed the easy throw to JT, it was an easy 1st down and out in space, JT might’ve turned it into a HUGE gain!

AR / Steichen have to learn to get it into JT’s hand on easy throws out in space.  I cannot emphasize this point enough.

I said it in the game day thread, this was the most encouraging opening day loss for the Colts over the past 11 years!

Some great stuff here. That throw to Dulin was shot out of a cannon.

That play at :59.....number #20 on Texans. He was looking to put AR in the hospital, and I'm glad he missed.

Lots of questionable hits/bodyslams/head hunting in that game from the Texans.

I remember Andrew Luck having a cannon for an arm watching him at his pro day before being drafted by the Colts. But man, Anthony Richardson making that throw is one of the most impressive displays of arm strength in NFL history.

I have been watching football since 1977 and that is one of the best throws I have ever seen.

Epic throw. His arm reminds me of Elway, who I consider to have the greatest NFL arm.

If u watch this game and the highlights. There is no one like him in the league. He improves his accuracy and I bleeive he will go down as one of the greatest. He had that much talent. If u were to build a qb, he is what u woule come up with. It's mind boggling the talent this kid has. How u going to stop this kid??

These are the most positive comments I have ever read from you. 👏 👏

    • I think the problem is that Ballard waited WAY too long to address the QB situation with a young guy. If we trade up for Justin Herbert in 2020 (which is what I wanted), we've already won the division multiple times and we're perennial SB contenders.  Instead Ballard tried to "win now" with washed up QBs. It worked for a year with Rivers, but you knew that was only ever going to be 1-2 years max. Now we have a long developmental guy in AR. Stroud was my favorite in 2024. AR was my second. Levis was my third. I was in the never Bryce camp, because I don't believe a QB that is barely taller than I am and has less muscle mass than I do could ever succeed, period.  We have what we have. We have AR, who could be great in a few years, and we have an aging roster that could be finished in a few years. I'm worried Ballard missed his window, but we'll see.
    • Ironically, for years with frank's offense we had sustained between the red zone drives and TOP, but no big scoring plays.  This season, we have had some big plays but no sustained drives, really.  The defense that keeps AP from breaking big plays will tend to also keep JT from making long runs.   If it stays like this, defenses will force the Colts to do everything underneath, and that's ARs biggest weakness.  I assume defenses would be content to let the Colts churn the field at 4 to 5 YPC from a RB, because the field becomes "the box" in the red zone, and we really don't have a short yardage punching running game for red zone running.  AR needs to figure out the underneath game.    And no, specific play calling won't undo that issue.
    • The beautiful thing about a new week early in the season is that the narrative about the Colts can change quickly with a solid performance on Sunday. I've been surprised by what we've seen so far and I hope to be surprised again, this time in a positive way, this Sunday. Let's see an angry Colts team take out their frustration against the Bears. Grr!
    • There's a big difference between learning to play the game and learning to win games. The Colts never seem to get past learning (or trying) to play the game (chopping wood and every other cliche you can think of). It's been that way for years now with several different coaches and general managers. You can lose a team through continually losing games.  We've seen that happen over and over again.
    • With better (even average) QB play, having long sustained drives on offense and maybe playing with a LEAD at some point, our D wouldnt look so bad.  Give them the lead and dont have them on the field for 2/3 of every game, and I bet things would look FAR different. I know I'm not the oldest fan on here by far, but I'm so sick of the losing culture we've had for the majority of the time since Peyton left... I understand Irsay wanted to draft Luck and move on...but he also talked a lot of trash about the Peyton years not long afterwards, and Luck played what, 2 more years than Peyton?      I hate the way Luck left us high and dry like he did, but I also really liked him as a player... but the choices made in the GM(s) and coaches we've hired since we cleaned house in 2011 is part of the reason he retired early and a huge reason why we are here over a decade later, still "rebuilding".    No one is afraid to play us anymore...we arent seen as a team worthy of having a prime time game on tv...there's no toughness on our team at all, coaches or players, at this point.    People called us a soft team in the 2000s when we werent, we had real leadership...but no one talks about it now, when we are one of the softest, least motivated/prepared teams in the league
