WOW! Clelin Ferrell at 4!? We thought he could potentially drop to us.

Not here. I thought he’d go top 5-7. I think one of the Gavin’s I even selected him at 6 after trading back up

I mean, Gruden said great pass rushers are rare, so it makes sense that he locks one up early.

Can you say reach

Not at all. I’ve been high on the kid for several weeks now. I think he’s the second best DL in this draft behind Williams. He’s solid and the Raiders just got a stud

Pass rushers are clearly very valuable right now. I think they come off faster than expected tonight because of that. Look at the draft capital teams are trading for proven pass rushers and the miney they are willing to spend. You get a top pass rusher this year, you get good production for 3 or 4 years and a hell of a trading asset at the end of their rookie deal if you don't want to fork the money over.

Today is like what Christmas was for me as a kid. That's the excitement level here!

Agreed. I wrote that this morning on the Vikings Daily Open thread.

But this is the quietest it has been on the Colts forum on draft day.

Devin White is a reach. When you have several pass rushers available, you don't pass it up. You could have signed a free agent linebacker for a LOT less than what the top rushers were going for...

I think he is a great player. But I don't think the value is there over the pass rushers that are gifted to the next several picks now...

Devin #1 down. Solid pick for TB. They needed some LB help next to Lavonte David.

This draft seemed to be a tougher one to analyze than usual.  Looks like it may be all over the place.  Which makes it interesting.

Someone's going to get Rosen for a steal. With picking Murray, Rosen essentially doesn't have a logical roster spot and the leverage isn't there anymore. You can't have the QB you drafted in the 1st last year backing up this years 1st when they have completely different styles.

Rosen or Daniel Jones to the Giants? Maybe?

I did not know that in advance despite my earlier comment. He looks like a Giant to me.

apparently giants loved jones

I knew they did, but figured they would try for him at #17.

Like Mel is explaining now though. If you want a guy, take him.

I told my friend who is a Giants season-ticket holder that I thought Jones would be a Giant. He seems like Eli -- quiet.

Like Kiper said, if you feel like he is your franchise QB, you don't go cheapskate and try to get him at 17 and risk one team liking him enough to trade up.

I can’t handle JA and K. Cole both with the Jags

@RockThatBlue won't be happy. I thought the Jets would draft him. He is from NJ, I believe.

Definitely didn't want to see the Jags pick Allen. Dude is an animal.

    • Perhaps the upgrade you want comes from the draft?   Perhaps Agholor replaces Funchess?
    • Brady could literally be the difference maker to pushing them to the promised land. They’d have to be in win now mode right?
    • My thoughts too, any player that has had previous relationships with our staff will automatically be linked to us by default...
    • At first I chuckled at the notion, but having thought about this it makes sense.   If Brady were to switch teams away from NE, it would make sense there would be some comfort level playing under Vrabel.    And TEN made the AFCCG, with a strong running game, which is a good thing for a 43 year old QB to have.  TEN is more of a contender than either LVR or LAC.   And whatever TEN will have to pay Tannehill, he isn't worth it, and Vrabel likely knows it.   So Brady becomes a bridge QB that can actually make some 2-minute passing game plays to help TEN win the AFC.  And TEN can look for a longer term option at QB, avoiding the probable Tannehill signing then crash and burn purgatory.
    • 1st of all.   I wouldn’t trust a single word that Holder guy says. Indy is very unfortunate to have him as their main ESPN media man.   2nd.   Every single Free agent is going to be linked to the Colts at some point during the off-season, Even QBs now. Lol Colts have most cap space and didn’t make playoffs. Leaves a lot to be optimistic about.
