As of right now, Sunday's forecast looks mostly cloudy with a high of 80.

The NCAA canceled the VT game which is in the same vicinity as the Redskins game. A cancellation is still possible.

Yeah you can cancel the game, but when do you make it up? Because the Redskins bye week is week 4 and the Colts bye week is week 9.

Do you push the playoffs back a week and play the Colts/Skins game the weekend after the last game of the season?

Play two games in one week? possibly three monday  night games instead of two? and then they play their normal scheduled game the sunday after? could do that, BUT then you have to think about the game the day before that they play as well. That would be 3 games in 7 days. and two games you're getting ready for in one week then having to get ready for your next game the next week where you only have 3 or 4 days to prepare for that one.

My point is, it would be difficult to reschedule this game.......The only viable option would be to move the game to a different venue. Like UVA did, they  moved their home game against University of Ohio to Vanderbilt's football stadium since Vanderbilt is in South Bend this weekend (GO IRISH!!!). But the logistics aspect of it would be a pain in the behind to take care of in the next 3 days with plane tickets, hotel reservations, fan tickets, equipment transportation, etc. It's possible, but it would make for a very rough week for both teams. But they could move the game to either Cinci (they play at home thursday night) or Cleveland (are on the road this weekend).   Unless the NFL is absolutely 100% sure neither team will make the playoffs this year then you can cancel it and not play it at all, but I think one if not both of these teams will be in the playoffs.

What’s the NFL history like in these situation. Since D.C doesn’t appear to be taking a direct hit and likely just have heavy rain and wind I sssumed they would just say suck it up and play.  I’ve never paid attention in the past how they have treated games that are affected by a hurricane but not taking a direct hit. I assume it’s happended in FL and along the east coast.

I think it is a non issue for this weekend since the heavy rain not coming until Tuesday and Wednesday last I checked.

I have not heard much mention that this game is in any real danger of not being played as of lately.

It would certainly suck if it gets postponed/rescheduled. Bought my game tickets long time ago and already have flight/hotel/car booked. Staying on the east coast for a week as I will also attend the Eagles game a week later
