Of all the RB's available I'd take Jamaal Williams from BYU. I'm obviously biased because I have watched him play over the years more than any other back however he is very disciplined on the field and an extremely hard runner. He also has great ability to pick up the blocks. I think he will do very well wherever he ends up.

I saw that 5 TD game against Toledo and was impressed.

He's a rookie GM and he was really outmaneuvered on what the other GM's saw in this RB class.  He said he was going to make mistakes and it looks like he made one on the RB position.  We shall see.

No, he was patient and let the board fall to him. There's still a handful of solid RB's left and he said last night a few still on the board too.

I still believe there a few running backs left that have starting potential:

South Florida RB Marlon Mack

Boise State RB Jeremy McNichols

Oklahoma State RB Samaje Perine

Wyoming RB Brian Hill

UTEP RB Aaron Jones is my sleeper pick as an UDFA.

McNichols fumbles WAY too much for me. I'm not sold on Perine and he had a lot of carries, so I'm not sure how long he'll hold up. Brian Hill is my favorite at this point,  but I do like Aaron Jones as a late pick if we trade down or UDFA.

At this point, I think Robert Turbin is still young enough to run more between the tackles. If I had to choose one, I'd go with someone with good catching skills and elusiveness after catch with a low fumble rate, if that specialist is still there.

Is Christian McCaffrey still there? :) No? Maybe Curtis Samuel? Darn. I actually like Donnel Pumphrey for that tbh. Would take him in the 4th somewhere.

To me, that confidence to dump it to the RB and asking him to make just 1 man, just 1 man, miss is invaluable when pressure is in the face of your QB. A dump off to Turbin or Gore on 4th & 1 is never going to work even if LBs are 5 yards away. :)

If we can't get the well rounded RB we want, when we want, I'd say go with a specialist in the catch and make miss department with speed. Heck Devine Redding may be able to do that as well, if I remember right. I heard that some other teams are high on him as well as a day 3 pick.

To have an rb for that purpose, and screen passes, would be a huge boost to this offense. I wouldn't mind getting a guy like that, even if it costs a 4th. If the pick hits, we wouldn't complain about it later. As long as we get a player that can make an impact.

You love the first 3 picks AND think he failed. That's impressive.

I don't know why you are putting words in my mouth.  I never said he failed.  I said I loved his 1st. three picks.  Just because I question his decision not trade back into the 3rd. doesn't make him a failure.  IMO he missed an opportunity to get one of the better RB's like his old boss and a few other teams did and trade back in.  There were a lot of trades yesterday as teams were aggressively trying to improve their team.  We stood pat for todays picks.  All I'm saying is a lot of GM's thought it was a good idea to get a RB in the 3rd.  He didn't.   Hope he's right.   BTW maybe he should take a DL in the 4th or trade for Richardson because the AFC South just loaded up with some big RB's this draft.  Hankins is going to have his hands full.

Cohen is the only back left guaranteed to make one guy miss
