Just saw what Kiper mocked in the first rnd(center. In that vein, I ask any O-line guru's. What's more important in the "Stretch" play center, or guard? Remember how we set up our offense back in the "Triplett's" days. Would play like that suit our new ZB schemes better. Sure miss the stretch play.

I don't have any idea.  It would seem like the entire line would move together and the back picks the opening.  Interested in what our guru's think.  Jeff Saturday wasn't a big center but he could move well.  Kelly is an extremely highly rated player with all pro potential.  I guess it depends if we sign a center in FA.  If we really pick him at 18 he should start right away.  I have no problem with the pick.

Think interior o-line or a NT that consistently takes dbl teams to manage the run game better will be a big leap forward. Personnel that can start from day one. No more projects. Can't mess up on 1st rounders.

if your running a stretch play, better have people that can both move and move people. hard play with the speed of most defenses.

Seems like we should at least be close to the personnel needed right.

1) I would doubt that we spend the 18th pick on a C for several reasons 2) I think the stretch play is still a viable play today you just need the right people to run it

i have agree with what someone posted above, we need to hit our first round picks. starters from day 1. From 2007 to present

07- Anthony Gonzalez- was never more than a 3rd string WR

08-No pick cant remember why?

09-Donald Brown...1 good year with us then gone

10-Jerry Hughs didnt fit in our system now gone and lighting it up in Buffalo

11-Anthony castanzo finally a hit

12-Andrew Luck we got lucky

13-Bjoern Werner ugggh

14-No pick TRich ugghhhh

15-Philip Dorsett unproven first round reciever taken when we didnt need one, seems injury prone

 

Basically in my eyes 2 out of 9, whatever we use the 18th pick on so be it a center he needs to be a day 1 starter bottom line, cant afford to be wasting 1st round picks

I think if your gonna get a center to start you need to look at free agency .
