mightisright
Hey all. I was just wondering what do you all think Peyton's going to do when he's done playing football. Somebody just posted elsewhere that he'd be in a tv/commentary booth somewhere. I personally think he loves the game too much to just watch it. I think he'll coach. What do you all think he'll do? Hopefully this is in 4-5 years, of course!

mightisright
You think college or pros? Anybody ever heard him talk about it in an interview or in an article? Edited October 11, 2011 by mightisright
ruksak
OC then HC after a hiatus. I don't see him messing with the college level.
PatMcAfeeFan
I think after he retires he will take 4-5 years off ,or longer, to just relax and spend time with family. I also believe that if he wants to coach the Colts will be the first to offer him a job.

mightisright
I don't think he's capable of taking 4-5 years off. He wouldn't be able to handle "retirement" Have you seen him walking the sidelines? He can't stand not to be in the action! I think he takes a year off, two at most. Duolian
I would like to see him become a driving instructor, specializing in parallel parking. Swiveling his head around to the left and right as easily as an owl.

Coltsman1788
Start grooming Marshall Manning to take his place as the G.O.A.T. Even the kid's name sounds like he'll be a stud. ;)
Balzer40
I think he will coach. The guy is a football junkie and he has so much knowledge to give to other players. I think it would drive him nuts to sit in a booth and watch others play without being able to give them his input. I also believe that if he wants to coach the Colts will be the first to offer him a job.I dream that he will take over the coaching position for the Colts. I think he would be an amazing coach. He bleeds football. Him coaching, and his padawan, Curtis, throwing the ball... All would be good in the land of the horseshoe.
daisymay_tr
During an interview with Dan Patrick last year, Peyton said he honestly cannot see himself going into coaching because one thing being on the sidelines and calling the plays for Sorgi, Painter, etc, is that when he's not actually on the field, he SUCKS at play calling.Personally I think it's a shame, I think he'd make an incredible coach

swflacoltsfans
I don't think he would be able to put up with the players that didn't give one hundred percent or put in the time he did to study.
Susie Q
Well if he coached I would bet he would be a lot more vocal on the sidelines than the coach we have now. ( remember the Donald chewing ) rotfl
FireJimCaldwell
I believe he stays involved with football. I could see the TV route, but I don't think that would satisfy his competitive nature. Therefore I see him getting into coaching, and I see that happening on the college level before the NFL, but you never know.
Amielio
I would definitely see him as a QB coach or a head coach. He is such a machine and knows how to be a all in one lol
pizza guy
He and his wife just had twins, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him actually retire for a little while, and stay home with them. As much as he loves football, he's a big time family man. I do expect him to get into coaching at some point though, and I'd expect it to be with the Colts in some capacity. Something like the road that Larry Bird has taken. First a coach, then a front office position. I hope he doesn't waste his football mind just sitting behind a desk and being another talking head. SanAntonioColt
Become UT's head coach? As a native Tennessean and Vol fan for well over 50 years, I would love it, but I don't think coaching is in his future. He will get a pregame gig or be the analyst for Sunday or Monday night. He could also replace Simms on CBS.
