An Indy Star story that I found via ESPN.....

Apparently there is no hyphen between Jean and Francois....   it's Ricky Jean Francois.   But no hyphen.    So, if you're using one, then by all means, stop it!   For the Love of God,  please just stop it!     :omg:

And he's not French....   he's Haitian.

Oh, and for those of you who were wondering,  RJF's middle name is.....................

Barkley.    (No, not named after Charles)

Still curious?     Here's more.....

I bet Francois got his middle name from Heath Barkley, Character from a western in the 60's...On a side note.....“Once I become a household name, it’s easy to spell,” he said, smiling. “They can spell it forward and backward easily.”

I LOVE that confidence, now make it happen!.

Bob is a name that can be spelled easily forwards & backwards too, but that doesn't guarantee that everyone named Bob will become internationally famous either RJF; I'm just saying...

Nice try though!

I will give you that one 21isSuperman. Well played! haha   But, what I said was "that doesn't guarantee that everyone named Bob will become internationally famous either RJF" It's a question of scope vs 1 famous NFL name. You did make LOL though!

The cool thing about a hard name that gets butchered a lot is that it is your own version of caller I.D. This happens to SW1 all the time. My real friends know how to say both names correctly & if someone messes it up I know that it is a tell a marketer; someone I have no desire to talk to.

I like catchy nicknames better anyway that evoke pain, fear, havoc, & serious damage versus properly pronounced full names in football, but that's just me I guess...

What really ended our chances was Wayne dropping a pass in the end zone that would have pulled us to within 1 td....Garcon also had a TD in that game.....Reggie did not

Did people really think he was French? I just assumed he was from some where in Louisiana.

I thought he liked French Fries....where was I?

To topic.  Nice read NCF.  I caught that in the Star the other day....I should post more stuff from there.  Not sure how many folks get the Indy Star...I get the online version and 2 days a week....Thursday....good NFL Preview and Sunday...NFL day.

Oh and Ricky wanted some fries with that?  :)  Better supersize for our big D-lineman!!!

Uhhh...I seem to remember a pass around the 40 right before the half that would have been a big first down and plenty of room to run after the catch that hit him right in the numbers.....we punted....NO moved it down the field changing field position...momentum...and score. This led them to an onside kick to start the half...and well the rest is history. The Wayne TD late would have only changed the score....NO would have simply ran out the clock with kneel downs.

    • Yeah, Ebukam almost looks clumsy next to Latu. He's just so fluid.
    • Did Hou actually get that much better? This really does remain to be seen. I am of the opinion that the signing of Diggs is a signing that has been made about 2 years too late. He won't be bad, but he isn't a top 10 WR in the NFL anymore. I wouldn't put him as any more dangerous that Pittman, so WR's are a push. We have the better RB, Mixon is great and all, but he is not JT. We have the better Oline, and it isn't even close. TE's are a push, we have a lot of upside, but until it is realised im very "meh" on our TEs. QB - I would argue that Stroud is probably more likely to regress to the mean in year 2 vs improve. That rookie season of his was a bit silly, and they had an easier schedule last season too. If he really does build on last year and get even better, then our entire discourse here is probably irrelevant as we will have another Mahomes level QB on our hands to deal with in the AFC and within the AFC South no less. So unless Richardson is also a Mahomes level talent in that scenario, we are done for anyways. To me, our success in this coming season comes down to 2 groups on this entire team. 1. The QB (because... duh) 2. Our DBs. If we even get average play from the DBs, I think this team has the ability to win the whole damned thing (supposing Richardson stays healthy and is what we all hope he is). I would also argue that Houston are paper thin. If they lose a OL starter, Mixon or even one of their starting WRs.... they have a very big drop off. And injuries happen in the NFL. Just sayin...
    • If he wasn’t fast enough or athletic enough anymore for linebacker, then he’s not going to be able to cut it at Safety where speed , quickness, athleticism are even more important.    Wish it wasn’t so….
    • could he be another bob sanders at that position?
    • Man I love me some Maniac, but it won't happen, and he's too slow after his surgeries.
