He could still get extended. They didn't give him the option because he is a swell fella. They gave it to him because they think he is a player they want beyond this year.

Completely disagree. He is the anti Freeney though. Great edge setter and run defense. Not a ton of pressures. He has gotten better every year with pass rush though. Great rotation guy

22 is a decent number but 3 out of 22 is a real small number. I am not a believer that we were willing to go for an extension at this time. There would be plenty of time to do that after this season. This strikes me more as a reward and motivator for the hard work and improvement he has shown over the three years. Hopefully the best is yet to come. -
Shedeur will be a first round pick like it or not (unless he falls apart this season but I doubt it), next years QB class is not nearly as strong as this years class and their will be more than 1 team looking for a QB. Frankly this class maybe 1 to 2 QBs look first round worthy right now, Beck will probably get some Buzz because Georgia will have alot of wins but Georgia doesn't ask a lot from there QBs. Of course someone will probably jump the rankings having an amazing season maybe Duke's Leonard. This is what the current class is looking: 1. Shedeur Sanders Colorado 2. Carson Beck Georgia 3.Quinn Ewers Texas 4. Jalen Milroe Alabama (Who I think isn't a real QB more of a leg threat but bad at throwing) 5. Preston Stone SMU (First I'm hearing about) 6. Cam Ward Miami

With Kwity Paye's option being picked up, have us at around $70m in cap space currently. ($20m rollover) I have us with about $29m to rollover after final roster, practice squad and in season spending takes place. Without any FA moves. Every multi-year deal will be a double hit to the cap, this year and next, the rest of the offseason. So for instance, if we signed Q Diggs to a 2yrs $16m(just throwing out numbers). That would essentially be all $16m coming out of the $70m, this year, reducing rollover amounts, next year + reduced rollover amount from this year + next year's money. Really expect any move we make, if we make one, will only be a 1yr deal, which still takes that $70m down out of the rollover.
