ravens might not make playoffs so we could see steelers or bengals first round

Do you realize how sweet it would be to go to Cincy for that game? They can't even sell out that stadium, heck I'd go!

I think Cincy would be a tougher challenge than B'more. They have a consistent running game with the law firm and AJ Green = B. Marsh = Megatron....that's alot of offense to deal with. B'more is still the Ray Rice show.

Ok, while you're thinking about yourself... I'm thinking about how we'd increase the chances of moving past the 1st round. Baltimore gives us the best shot at that

Dude, I'm always thinking about my self. I can't help it, I'm stuck with me.

But on that level, I should have been more clear, Of all of the potential scenarios out there, Cincy is by far and away the most desirable match up for the Colts.

Ed Reed would return all 4 Luck interceptions. :Nuke:

I think Baltimore pretty much hold all tiebreakers over the Steelers/Bengals if they finish with the same records or am I wrong? I dunno.

I don't think the Ravens lose all their remaining games BUT I won't be stunned if the Redskins run all over them this weekend too. :dunno:

Ravens might not make playoffs????

Baltimore clinches AFC North division with:

1) BAL win + PIT loss + CIN loss

Baltimore clinches a playoff spot with:

1) BAL win + PIT loss or tie OR

2) BAL win + CIN loss or tie OR

3) BAL tie + PIT loss + CIN loss

Probably they will not have a first round bye but they are almost a lock to be in the playoffs... sometimes you just create threads without thinking a lot or doing a little bit of research

thank you, alex

  • 2 weeks later...

Ravens have traditionally done well vs the Giants. I remember Bengals playing Peyton at home followed by Eli at home, they lost to Peyton and blanked Eli. Same thing is going to happen with the Ravens, IMO. They will get their 10th win next week and probably clinch the division with the Steelers beating the Bengals, I think because in that scenario both the Bengals and Steelers will be 8-7.

    • Uuuugh.     I think it would’ve been better if I had preached a healthy dose of patience and NOT patients.
    • Feel the need to clarify something.   The writer of the article, Bob McGinn, is one of the top-10 football writers there is.  (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) McGinn does NOT have an opinion on Mitchell.  It’s the unnamed scouts who have the negative opinions.  McGinn is quoting them which is his job.  He is supposed to do that.     Ballard even acknowledged that in his own way.  He literally said “put your name on it!”   Well, McGinn’s name IS on it.  it’s his column.   But it’s the scouts who are saying things anonymously.   If there’s an issue, (if) it’s with them, not McGinn.
    • And when/if a team signs one of those safeties they’ll be made to look like a genius while Ballard is called a fool.    I think what’s more likely is that an injury will inevitably happen and a team will bring in an available free agent. That could be training camp. That could early in the season. You just never know.
    • But if the Colts sign someone next week or the week after then it really doesn’t matter.    I would’ve preferred we sign some two weeks ago.   Get them familiar with the DC and position coach.   But once we didn’t then it really doesn’t matter when.  It just matters that we do it before camp opens.  At least to me.    And the fact no one else is signing these top FA safeties tells me the market just isn’t there yet.   I’m preaching a healthy dose of patients.
    • How about getting a proven commodity in the FA market? I know that assumes the player wants to be here, but money talks and the Colts have some. This D needs a solid center fielder. Simmons fits that role perfectly. If he’s gettable, here’s to Ballard pulling the trigger, even if it’s a slight overpay. The team CANNOT leave this crucial position to players who have consistently underperformed in the past (Cross and Thomas).
