Colts Keep Talent at WR

All during OTAs and camps the Colts brass spoke highly of Jabin Sambrano and Griff Whalen. The deepest area on the team was WR but none of the receivers were traded. The Colts kept 6 by holding on to Kris Adams. If you can call it luck Whalen and Sambrano were both placed on IR so we can keep them for next year.

Only one could and that is if the team designated one of them to be that IR to return guy, but I haven't seen anything about that yet.

Teams have an exception for one player so Whalen and Sambrano probably wont be it unless we get a couple of WRs injured. We have 6 on the active roster now when we usually keep 5.

Glad to see it. We're deep at WR and LB, and we kept all those guys in one capacity or another.

Anyway, regarding the IR thing, it probably won't happen unless Wayne or Collie goes down for the season. Otherwise, odds are Whalen and Sambrano are just getting stashed for next season. Regardless, it's a good sign in respect to their abilities that we're willing to shell out the cash to get dibs on them next season, which is essentially what IR for guys in their position is.

I think players on IR are not allowed to practice with the team. Hopefully the team will be creative in finding ways to help Whalen and Sambrano develop while they sit on the IR for this year.

Glad to see that Kris Adams made it and that we were able to stockpile our WR talent. It will be interesting to see if we continue to retain them all after the rosters are modified pending any waiver wire additions.

I believe Foster was brought off as a cut from the roster not the exception to add to the roster.
