    • how many games does derrick henry average 3 yards or  less in the first half then wears down the defense and get 150 in the second half .    if the titans had frank as a coach he would give up the run and have tannehill throw 50 times a game and lose every time .   stick with your bread and butter and stay balanced .
    • I heard a good analogy by jake query on the radio on why fans always blame Reich and not players. It’s because it’s easier for fans to see themselves as a coach then it is as a player with physical athletic traits. Everyone thinks they are a arm chair GM and coach and it’s so easy to do.
    • the turnovers were a direct result of not running the ball the stripped should of never happened .  up 10 in the redzone and frank is calling 7 step drops against a elite defensive line .   that is the game right there
    • It is also rhythm. If a D gets into the same rhythm, it makes the OL counter moves predictable and eventually it stops working without a variation.   I remember the highly vaunted offense of Peyton and the 2013 Broncos going into Foxboro, Belichick played Peyton like he played Jim Kelly and the Bills, he conceded the run and Knowshon Moreno ran for 225 yards, and in the process, Peyton and the passing offense, when they had to pass, did not have the rhythm to do so effectively and lost an OT game. So rhythm for blocking and rhythm for passing are all important, no matter how much of it is a case of going against the strength of the other team, just in the name of rhythm and keeping them honest.    A few other occasions - Kyle Shanahan and the Falcons go up 28-3 passing the ball but they had started out the game with sweep runs and toss sweeps with DeVonta Freeman. Without realizing how many plays their D was on the field for, they kept chucking it, leading to a missed blitz block by Freeman for a turnover, and then the infamous series, up 28-20, going back with a holding penalty and sack trying to pass while in FG range leading to the Patriots comeback. Then, Peyton vs Saints in the SB, down 17-24, 6 straight passes, 40 plus passes against a ball hawking team that had thrived on turnovers despite giving up tons of passing yards throughout the year, 3 plus minutes still on the clock to incorporate runs but no, we have to get greedy with the pass and the pick six happened and the rest is history. 2006 AFCCG, however, down 6-21, and down 13-21, we did not panic by passing too much, mixed in plenty of runs with passing, and that is how we tied the game and that is how we won the game too (Marvin insisted we run it on 3rd and 2 with Addai for game winning TD).    No matter what the strength of an opposing team, mixing in a few runs keeps the clock moving, keeps the rhythm if we need to run against tired legs down the stretch preserved, and our D's legs preserved too in a complementary game. How many years and games of football do fans have to see before we realize it?
